from what i have researched. So on average how long is the process from the minute they begin colonizing til their done fruiting??
you said it man. i can't wait for my grow. mostly going to be trial and error but ill definitely have a follow up grow.growin shrooms is so much fun...
The PF Tek is just brilliant and if you follow and perfect it... you can get about 10 grams dry from each cake... if the humidity, air exchange, and lighting is correct! Those cakes look a little low on the pinset brother, what flush is that? One thing you said caught my attention... you pick them right before the veil breaks, because they remain more potent that way? Can you please explain. All this talk of shroom growing gets me all worked up!
Looks like youre making some good progress. Just keep doing what youre doing, if it works, and dont let other people tell you otherwise. Only you know what is exactly going on.
I wanted to share my grow with you and let you see for yourself that the PF tek isnt so bad as everyone makes it out to be. At least if youre just growing for personal use.
These are my Wollongongs: I used a LC and they were colonized in about 10 days. Theyve been in the fruiting chamber for about a week now (I also DUNK & ROLLED). I use a seed starter heat mat to warm the chamber and I also have a little 23w CFL bulb sitting on the top for about 8 hours a day so they grow upwards.

The baggie of mushrooms was from my previous grow. And, yes, I know the caps are tiny. I like to pick right before the veil breaks because I prefer potency over weight! This is my last grow before I pack it all up for the year; I have plenty to last me through the winter
On a simlar note, I went to the bookstore today and found this little gem: http://www.amazon.com/Shroom-Cultural-History-Magic-Mushroom/dp/0060828285
Andy Letcher: Shroom (A Cultural History...) Gonna start reading it today!
Anyways, Keep up the good work! Itll pay off sooner than you think
See the logic in that! Oh yes, I got about 4 grams of aborts waiting for me. Just waiting for the right day to consume... definitely be by the beach with a nice backdrop of music... maybe some Enigma for the grand entranceThis is the first flush, theres a ton pins, the picture quality and distance wont allow you to see the tiny white pins. Give it a few days and that chamber wont have any open. Besides, some cakes just grow faster than others. The one mushroom is hitting the top of the chamber now and will be picked in a few hours at the most! I want to eat it so bad!
Picking them before/just slightly after leaves a higher psilocybin/psilocin content in ratio to the weight of mushroom 'material' (think of eating an 1/8th of aborts compared to just a regular eighth of caps and stems) If you let it go until the cap is fully open or dropping spores then that is when the alkaloids begin to degrade and there more weight in mushroom than the psilo's. So in conlclusion, smaller mushrooms picked a peak times equal more chemicals gram per gram.
looking good! hope mine goes smooth, ordered the spores yesterday.no man still colonizing. all contam free and going smoothly but def will need some more time. patience. day 13

i dont see y it wouldnt work....as long as they r getting fed they should keep growingSo i did some research, whether or not this will work is a toss up, there are very few resources about it; but i purchased 5oz of d-glucose (dextrose) off ebay today. What I plan on doing is injecting the cakes around the third flush with a 1:10 dextrose:water mixture. Technically this should feed the fruits to more flushes but who knows. i will prob get some negativity towards this but the dextrose was 4 bucks so its worth a shot.
im at day 16, they are all fully colonized, im giving them another day or two to penetrate the inside of the cake. will update soon.
Innovative thinking my friend! Kudos... do you mind supplying us all with a link where you retrieved this information from.
