My First Grow Room!!

Ya i feel ya there, so i have a few questions to ask:: I was thinking in the 2 windows i boarded up puting these in each one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835705056

they are 105 cfm one for the veg and one for the flowering room of fresh air constant on.

With a 4" inline exhaust fan for the 2 vents in the attic -- i think its rated at 120cfm or so.

and about 4 standard stand fans inside 2 for each room. That was my plan and i hop you can give me some tips.

Im good at wiring so those 250mm pc case fans will be no problem

Also im going cheap all the vent and air set up is costing me a total of 180.00

but than on the other hand i have one of those window A/C that is pretty old still works great but i think it will be a waste and to expensive to run.

Time to squeeze the cheeks and here is why.

personal computer fans are for just that, personal computers. Do you really want to go through all this trouble only too have a crop fail? Because of a cheap ventilation system that cannot keep up with the 1000 watts of light and extra heat makers You'll have. It gets hot where you are. I'm not ragging on ya hp
but think a lil' deeper and dig a lil' deeper.

Fans, vents a/c all good but you have got to move massive amounts of air. I don't think them little one will do it.

Hey now, I could be wrong, been before, but I'm just trying to beat the heat and bring a cool breeze in.

HP, this is where it gets fun to be a grower. I may be wrong, I'm not in your area. Do this the way you see fit. This is YOUR
grow room. Just make sure you can move that air.

Keep at it and give that dawg a treat!

Now I gotta deal with mr. Vento.

Great looking room so far! I agree with not skimping on ventilation. I originally thought that a few 80CFM PC fans would be perfect for my closet; they werent. Got a 400CFM centrifugal and havent looked back. BTW my room is 1/3 your size, so make sure you have adequate ventilation. Are you going to air cool your lights? Cooltube? Portable AC? Dehumidifier? CO2? How are you going to vent each individual room? What are doing for smell? Carbon Filters will lower the CFM rating of any fan so remember to factor that is when purchasing a fan.

I saw the little shack and I was in. This looks like fun. Chiming in on the ventilation because it seems to be the subject right now : listen to BB. You can't be tinkering with toys when you're trying to cool 1000 watts. I went overkill for my 400w A/C hood and bought a 465cfm activeair blower(it has a speed control so I use it at what I need). One tip is you ALWAYS want more CFM capacity than you think you are going to need.

So the only ideas i have so far is 1 6in-450 cfm inline fan for ceiling exhaust out of veg and flower room with my home made carbon filter on the exit.

And a other 6in--450 cfm intaking from the left side with a 6 in duct to both rooms on the floor probly secured around the edge of the floor with 1 standard stand fan in each room.

I think that will be enough air flow for 1 4ft tube light a 1 600 hps lamp.

with only 6 plants flowering at a time and 6 veg. at a time ....

What is up? What's up is I'm a little upset about The Black's pheno being all lanky. Other than that I love the dog picture you posted and I'm here to see HP's room go up and up. I rebuilt a space JUST like this that was an old in-law unit in my pal's back yard. It'll be interesting to see things unfold.

for not telling us before they hired a realtor. The Pick shows up not ten minutes after the realtor left, grabbed the sign
WALKED into my neighbors house and chewed his ass for ten minutes. Thought there was gonna be a brawl. Madds comes out with the sign
and a sly wrinkle above his left brow. Moved in shortly after and began to make my life hell. That house was our family house here since 1947.
Our Great Grandfather was a hell of a guy with tools and wood. He'd poop a herring if he walked in on this.

Its my first grow room -- But i have learned a lot of information from this site alone that i am making this post to help people out that are intrested in making there own grow room for limited cost's.

Im limited at the moment on how much i can do to money flow but in a couple of days ths build should be complete.

I was just wondering why your "mothers" were under HPS? Dont' you want them under M/H? Other than that It looks great. You could also put your mother/veg room together under a M/H 600w bulb and save some room. Just wondering bro.

Well as you can tell i was high when i did the paint thing and didnt mean 400 hps lol.

im still determining on the light for the mothers i have some time for that so its on the bottom the list at the moment!!

but the mother and veg room are connected as of today haven't decided if im going to close off into its own room yet. Probly wont just so i dont have to vent that room lol

You'll want to put the carbon filter on the intake side of the exhaust fan inside your room. Make sure that your homemade filter has the capacity to handle 450 cfm. If the air is whipping through the carbon too quickly, the smell won't all be removed. Are you still going to use the pantyhose full of aquarium carbon? If the carbon you used was from the fish section, it is made for filtering water, not so much air. I'd bite the bullet again and look for a quality filter that's rated for the fan. No sense in saving money here if you're gonna be stinking up the neighbourhood.

Thanks for the advice bro i appreciate it, but to be totally honest im legal to grow what im going to grow lol........so i really dont care about the smell i just wanted to try it out and see if it works b/c i saw a good youtube video of i guy that swore by it lol...


But thanks again for the insight, and what does it matter if its on the intake or the outtake of the fan.....just a curious question i really have no clue...

seems like the air is still passing threw it and since its a cheap panty hose set-up if some reason it breaks free really dont want the fan sucking it up lol
