Like I said, the process is relatively straight forward, but is extremely temperamental. Think of it this way, 20% is considered an exceptional yield; and sometimes, it just won't work, at all. Making things like meth is relatively easy, it's a forgiving process that will still yield usable product even if the only supplies you have are whatever you could steal from walmart and the last chemistry class you had was 12 years ago before you dropped out of high school. Making acid isn't like making meth or MDMA. LSD isn't like that. It requires much more time, money, space, expertise, professional training, high precision equipment, and super-pure precursor chems (and there's a long list of them too). This isn't a process that can be easily duplicated at home. Trust me, I seriously looked into it once, but that's another story... Unless you plan to make a career of it, it's just not feasible. If there were an easy way of doing it, I'd have found it by now.
