So I'm down 12 points in my fantasy football matchup this week. My opponent has the Saints defense, and they just scored a safety in the first couple minutes so they're looking good at the moment ...

I have Frank Gore & Vernon Davis tho, w/ the 49ers @ home and yet to score. Together they were projected 28 pts tonight, so I'm just crossing my fingers that they can produce and make me 2-0 in my league!

Seriously ... I got so caught up with Vernon Davis' 2 pt conversion that I forgot they had to kick off with a minute left on the clock

Saints played a good game, but Alex Smith was genius in how he ran the ball for the 9ers second half. Too bad they couldn't pull it off.

What a game last night, We looked good in the second half but first half was ehhhh rough. That last 49ers drive was sickk though. I flipped when they said no good the that 2pt conversion.

Support from the fans does not make a team. By all means, having a good fan base makes a difference (especially at home), but that does not take you to the super bowl. If that's your reasoning backing up a claim to another superbowl ring, then you have a lot to learn about sports.

Hell ya ... Alex Smith was genius in how he drove the ball down that field under pressure in the last couple minutes. And the fact that the officials almost called Davis' 2 pt conversion no good was ridiculous, but they did the right thing in overturning it and gave the 49ers a shot. While they didn't pull it off, if they can fix all those problems they had in the first half on the punt return fumbles and learn to protect the ball, then I think it's safe to say the 49ers ARE BACK!!!

Eagles ... Now there's an underdog superbowl prospect!

Michael Vick has really stepped it up and in my opinion is acting like the #1 QB in the league (#2 behind Manning so far this year, and that's with like 40 minutes less play time). Serious offensive weapons for him to work with. Great defense. Akers is one of the best kickers in the league.

We'll see how they look mid-season and we should have a much better idea of the serious contenders this year

Great showing. Fuck the Saints - biggest band wagon team I have ever seen. That Superdome used to be empty for all of their games. I went to a game and the ticket was $5 for a 50 yard line 3 rows up. Who Dat Nation? Give me a f'n break; there are like 5 dudes that bleed black and gold the rest of you hopped on the wagon 3/4 way through the season last year.

For sure ... I didn't know much about Vick pre:dogfighting bullshit, but I've followed along ever since his conviction and completely agree. Yes, he fucked up. HOWEVER, if you compare what Vick has done to show remorse and try to use his situation as an example to inspire youth not to make the same mistakes, I think it's safe to say that he has bettered more lives in the end thru his actions than those that he has hurt. Doesn't totally fix what he did to all those dogs, but it's more of an effort than 99% of the other criminals out there!

Well said! I mean, that's cool if the Saints are in the running and ya don't have a team in there to cheer on, so you go with whatever is your favorite of the bunch. Understandable.
