Day 47 - 2.jpgDay 47 - 1.jpg

My grow area was getting too cold :wall: The last two days the temp was 63F-66F. I was worried about mold or rot so I converted a closet to the new space for now. So far temps are holding in the high seventies (which I am much more comfortable with).

I may make adjustments over the next few days depending on if I run into any issues. Enjoy the new pics :joint:

Wow, your plants are the same age as mine but the blooming is way further. Either that light kicks ass or you are one hell of a lot better at growing than I am lol.

Pics look good man, thanks for watching :joint:

Not saying anything as far as grower capabilities, from what I see so far you are a great grower. but a 400 watt mh/ hps will kick the day lights out of cfls. My Grow bright MH conversion bulb puts out 38,000 lumen's. My HTG Supply 400 watt High pressure sodium bulb puts out 55,000 lumen's. does generate more heat but not that much just have a fan constantly blowing on them and you will have no problems in a ventilated area.

You should get a bottle of flower hardner come the last few weeks of flower cuz cfls wont give you the compact buds a HID would, and you'll be bulking your harvest.

hell yea if you can get a 400w HPS for a bill that'd be legit man! I paid about $150 for each of mine. Lookin good bro

I'm trying to sell some stuff on craigslist, hopefully I can come up with the money for that light. I see so many grows the same age as mine with way more bud! Oh well, the cfl's are still doing a good job for my broke ass lol :joint:

HAY Run those CFLS the rest of the way bro just to see what happens , BTW looking great man !!!!

by any chance could that be the same as overdrive from advanced nutritions if so do you have any experience with it or any others?

Don't get discouraged over other people's grows. CFLs are notorious for taking longer than HID lights. Just focus on your grow and what it needs.

Day 48.jpg

I was reading through McPurple's "Show Me What ya Got LST" thread I decided that I could train these girls down one more time before all of the stems get too hard.

What I have now is my side branches tied down and then the side branches that grew up from them have been tied down too. I'm thinking these should be able to get those thick bush canopies that I saw so many nice pics of in that thread.

Day 49.jpgBig Boy light.jpg

Tying them down seems to have been a good idea. barely any of the soil is visible now. These plants are awesome.

I found a guy near me on Craigslist today with a 400W 2700k HPS out of a warehouse for 60 bucks.... I couldn't pass it up since I had already convinced myself I was going to spend 100 on a 400W HPS anyway.

After getting home this evening I had to plug the HPS in just to see if these things really make "that much" more light.... HOLY SHIT MAN! For those of you who own one of these this will come as no surprise. To those of you who have never seen one of these things lit up, after the bulb was on for about 60 seconds looking in the general direction of this light was like staring at the sun lol. I haven't got the HPS setup over the plants yet as I have to figure out some mounting and venting but I think I should have something figured out this weekend.

That nice thick canopy will love this light, I can't wait to see how this turns out. :joint:

And I was looking forward to watching you grow with CFL's from start to finish.
I can't even watch myself grow with CFL's from start to finish as I will be adding my LED as soon as it's time to switch to 12/12.

I was starting to feel like the 272W that I currently have wasn't quite enough and I was going to have to add a few more CFLs. The deal on the HPS was too good to pass up.

I guess we always have Dumpsterkeeper's thread to show off the CFLs done right :)

sweet man.. good buy... i paid 100 canadian.. including 2 430 sun aggro bulbs lol.... i had the exact same reaction if you check out my thread https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/364071-now-were-rollin-430w-hps.html

but ya.. your 2 plants are going to seriously love that thing..... i like to just sit in front of my cab on rainy days... try and tan a bit. good for the soul.

looks like the ballast is part of the light assembly? you might want to try and seperate them.. the ballast also puts out alot of heat... at least mine does... i have it sittign outside my cab with 2 PC fans blowing on it
to keep it cool and efficient.

Yeah I am already looking at ways to separate it. I am thinking about creating a cool tube like you have made but I have to find a glass tube... where did you manage to find yours?

found it at Pier1 Imports. Housing kinda store, was 30 bucks... don't know if you have 'em. It's a huge glass candle cover. works like a charm. ive since redone the ducting to it.. and my ventilation... i was gonna post
a pic, but noone seems to care about my journal lol. so i said fuck it.
