Question about topping?

hey i was wondering. is it possible to use the topping method on an autoflowering strain to get more than 1 main cola.

this may be a simple answer but i just want to make sure.

and when people say the 4th node. do they mean the base of the 4th leaf that grows out of the stem?

yea, topping should work for any strain.

I wouldn't top an auto, but that's just me. Since you aren't vegging it, topping will just shorten the plant most likely hurting final yield.

Topping is great for regular plants. You will end up vegging about a week longer to recover growth, but the plant grows more vigorously after it gets topped.

It seems like the benefits outweigh the bad points, i.e you always get more yield if you top or LST.

I'm half tempted to Top my 3 week old White Widows but they look so healthy and happy an I don't want to ruin that.

After 2-3 more weeks after you will say man i wish i topped it sooner~!

I love topping and LST, 60 colas on my last girl i harvest, 30ish on my next one

topin i understand guys, whats is LST ? Can I get a breifing on this? and my question is, dose anyone know for a FACT, if you get more weight toppin or not ? all things equal, you loose a week but whats the yield ratio/topin or not ?

i agree. i dont have any experience with autos but from my reading they basically start out in flower and never veg. maybe technically its veging when it first starts but i think then it would be too small and young for a topping. i would leave it be.

Shit dude, that is a LOT of colas. Right so I definitely should Top.

Was gona use Uncle Bens technique of topping just above the 2nd true node but I may go for just above the 3rd as I'm up to about its' 6th node now, can you see any problems with this?

yeah thats what i would do. dont be afraid to experiment topping your non autos. its hard to screw up. if you want to see a good example of what topping does check my last grow http://skiweeds.angelfire.com scroll down about halfway to may 3rd. go by the dates on the pages, not the actual pics. some of the dates on the pics are inaccurate because the camera date resets after the battery is removed for charging.
