My lifelong dream is to work with lions. I saw a show on NG about a guy who studys lions and how the interact. When could play with them like they were his dogs. They trusted him so much it was incredible.
seriously if you buy a breed cat , you must be a huge cat lover,

i have 2 i have one whos really playful and loves my dog gets into a lot of crap
and my other one is quiet , doesnt like other people but me and known people, doesnt like too much affection and likes to sleep A LOT declawing a cat is the wrong thing to do mine are not declawed and have never wrecked any furniture. if you do get a cat try not to get a BREED, i had a Devon Rex when i was little she had a lot of mental issues, she would growl and bite people, licked herself rawr, and had to take basically kitty prozac she also gorged herself on food, the vet told us that breed cats usually end up like this ,
might as well get a free one, just remember cats are territorial to homes so if youre getting a cat from another household older, or young, he/she may be very timid at first and need to really warm up to the place cats cost about 12 bucks a bag of food 6 bucks for litter, so not a whole heck of alot unless you have medical bills to pay for like spaying or nutering. Id also suggest to get female , as male cats tend to spray, and once you get them nuetered theyll still spray and its nastyy smelling as fuck. Also keep your cats indoors

I have a Russian Blue the most nosiest cat I have ever had. But absolutely loves to be with you and on you as much as possible. I, also, have a Calico that thinks she is a princess and should be catered to and with her it is strickly love on her terms.
Someone here said they clean their litter box once a week. If you want to make sure they do it in the box, then clean it daily.
Do get your cat from a No Kill facility or go to the pound (I got mine there) and save one that will die very soon without you saving it. I swear that they know that they are on a count down.

I agree tha breed dogs and cats are weaker than regular smuts, but for the animals life, if u have the chance and a yard, always let your cat out...cats like to explore and walk about on their own...if u like buy some fucking fake ass shit so they can be all around indoor, you are not showing much love at all actually..cats love outdoors, so whenever can, let them be out! I bet my 2 cats are 100% more happy compared to some house cats!House cats tend to get fatter also if u like to feed your cats really generously !

My cat would be miserable indoors all of the time.... she's still a kitten and doesnt really wander far, but she'll stay outside most of the day. She'll follow me around and meow when I wake up until I feed her, and then once she's done eating she's meowing at the door. The whole morning is spent stalking crickets in the flower bed, playing with plants, and watching/chasing birds.... hell, she'll even follow me into the woods when I go hunting
I think you need to let cats outside to play... animals dont belong inside all the time. But you also have to stay on top of bathing/flea control alot more than average.

Yea, my cats follow me as well when i wonder off to the woods to go shroom picking or just for a walk....Collars( i odnt mean regualr collars
) really help to keep off the nasty fleas and other bastards!

My $.02: Don't get one with long hair. We have two cats; one long hair, and one short hair. They're both full of personality, and feel like family members as much as our two dogs, but the long haired cat is high maintenance. She gets dreadlocks if we don't brush her enough (which she hates) and she leaves hair all over the house.

good advice. But you know, the quality of hair and consequently care needed really depends on the breed.
We have a Persian (you guys call 'em Himalayans) and a Norwegian forest cat (he's like a baby lynx
). BOth are long hair breeds, but the persian has thinner, frizzier, fluffier hair that requires more care than the Norwegian. But to make my life easy I just shave 'em every few months.Here's my seal-point Persian. Can't keep away from my plants
If you want a docile, indoor cat you can't beat a Persian/Himalayan. He has no interest whatsoever in going out; unlike his Norwegian brother:

The high maintenance one that I mentioned is a Persian - you're right, they're definitely docile. She's super mellow and friendly, and always on the prowl for a warm lap to pounce on - even total strangers. She also seems a bit retarded as far as normal cat skills go... climbing, jumping, hunting - she sucks at all of them.
