A star is born. Jacqueline was born on the 7th, the smaller of 2 Jackhammer seeds I planted. The other one, as well as the 3 Blueberry Indica X Jackberrys have yet to show themselves. Today is day 5 and even though I know it's still too soon I can't help but wonder if I'm having bad luck with seeds. The other little sprout is an aromatic cousin that I hope to have a few of around to help in the kitchen, Basil. Here's an update on Princess B as well. She's 15 days in flower now and seems to be enjoying life. I expect her to help me bring in the new year. :eyesmoke:

No, I'm using peat pellets again. I think I'm getting them too moist. I just figure if one can sprout, then the conditions should be good enough for the others too. Or so you'd think. I'm just gonna let them dry up a bit and see what happens. I don't want to try any others yet with the possibility of getting those two mothers from my neighbor and the cutting I took from Princess B that should take, along with this Jackhammer, I don't want to get overrun. 4 or 5 is about max for me. I do want to take my time with this Jackhammer and use her as a mom if she's a she and is healthy. So I'm looking at veg time, then cuttings, then sexing time for one of them and if all's good then 12 to 14 weeks flower, so all in all 18 to 20 weeks till I see any of that. I'm just not sure when I can start taking cuttings, I'm guessing by week 3. If no more of these seeds pop I think I'll try the Kushberry (I thought he said Blueberry Kush at first) seed I scored the other day. Speak of the devil, the neighbor just popped by and said he'd have those two mothers for me this Friday and they're a WW X Northern Lights. Now this is gonna be "the most wonderful time of the year".

I think you are correct. Sounds like micro is confirming what I thought about it being too moist. I'm wondering whether to try digging them out to see what's going on in there. I think the next seeds I'll do straight in water but I won't plant them in the pellets but instead I'll go straight into a cup of soil, cutting a transplant out of the picture and just letting them build a nice root ball before going into the 3 gallon. Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Today's day 6 so I think I'm gonna gently open them up and see what's going on. First I have to run out and try to find some good soil but I'm finding that a little challenging this time of yea,r but I think I know where to try. Before anyone asks, yes there are many hydro stores around but I've got issues with them and their inflated prices so I won't go there. I'm almost tempted to grab a bag of MG but that will be a last resort.

MG soil is not that bad ive seen great grows with it and their is a MG vs FF thread right now and all the plants are pretty even. if you have a fred myers they have blackgold potting mix and it is very cheap like 10 bucks here for a big bag just add perlite, they have some thathas nutes in it and some with out. i get the stuff with out it is called black gold coco mix

Thanks mcp, I'll keep my eyes open for that. What is that coco mix. I've seen guys here growing in Coco. Is it just what it sounds like and is the mix just potting soil with coco in it? Also, I read that thread your talking about. It's just like the old Chevy vs Ford thing with the odd Dodge guy throwing in his two cents, lol. Anyway, I cracked open those pellets and found the other Jackhammer with a nice tap root on it, so I loosened up the peat pellet and replanted her nice and loose. The three Blueberry Indica X JB were dug out and put in a shot of water. One of them is already showing a tap root coming out, should definitely be planting that one tonight or tomorrow, as well as any other surprises I might find. I'm a Canuck so I don't know what a Fred Myers is but somethings gotta happen by tomorrow, whatever that is. I also saw that DST encourages recycling soil. I always thought that was a no no. Also mcp, and I'm laughing at myself for going all over the place, do you use perlite in your soils, when you grew that is, and what ratio do you suggest?

Thanks man.

the coco mix is just organic soil and it has coco coir fibers in it, it is nothing like growing in pure coco but it is good. and fred myers is kinda like walmart but they carry brand name close, shoes, and everything else it is not generic items. and yes i use perlite in my soils, i think every one should. i never really measured i just mixed in enough to where i thought it was fluffy enough, if i had to guess though it would probably be about 20-25 percent perlite

I'm joining in on the LST fun. Great thread, great info. I'm doing 1 plant to learn and when I get the hang of it, I'm sure all my plants will follow.
