Question about switching nutrients & brands mid-grow???

Hi everyone,

I'm running an aeroponics/dry fog & deep-water-cult setup. As for nutrients, I'm currently using the GH 3-part nutrient mixture (2-2-2)... I am in Flowering Week 2, growing some nice OG Kush.

I'm looking to switch to a different brand and combination of nutrients in a few days. I was thinking of trying the AN Connoisseur + AN Sensizym + AN Big Bud + AN Bud Candy. I want to maximize root uptake and get huge, sweet buds... the bigger the better.

A few questions...
- Do you think these four AN nutrients will be sufficient?
- Should I add anything else to the mix?
- Do I need to be concerned about anything in switching from the GH 3-part to the AN stuff?
- Is there anything specific that helps especially with aeroponics and/or deep-water setups?
- If you were doing this, what would you do differently?
- If I'm going to pump up the bud size, should I add something like AN Rhino Skin to make the stalks stronger?
- Will my plants 'reject' the nutrient change or anything extremely bad like that?

Thanks so much for your input. It does mean a lot. I'm on my first grow! You can check it out here if you're looking for more info >> https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/386082-first-grow-homemade-aeroponics-deep.html

Thanks again and looking for all of your experienced pro tips! Cheers!!

wouldn't run the Bud Candy with aeroponics, the Connoisseur and Big Bud are solid formulas for cannabis flowering it should do well. Sensizym is kind of an addition product, it won't help get bigger, fatter, denser, frostier heavier buds like Mike promises, but it might help with root health

Exactly- Don't believe the hype!

As far as switching nutes in the middle of a grow--

No probs in hydro, generally.

Since you are growing DWC, the grow medium IS the nutes, so you can use whatever, so long as the diet is balanced.

That's why growing in DWC owns--- you can always make immediate adjustments to your solution if something is off, and see results within the span of a day or so.

Good luck!

Thanks for the responses dudeoflife & squarepush3r!

Yeah I'd say the roots could use a little boost, which is why I was looking at the AN Sensizym.

Squarepush3r, why do you recommend not using AN Bud Candy with aeroponics? Does it clog up the foggers? Just curious.

Thanks again guys!

- Will my plants 'reject' the nutrient change or anything extremely bad like that? No. So long as you're using the nutrients correctly, you'll be fine.

The b52 I recommend myself, as far as their overpriced beneficial bacteria and fungi( voodoo juice) , it is good but you can brew your own for much less cash. Personally I wouldn't go with the connoisseur , sensibloom a/b is good enough and half the price. The sensizym I had a bad experience with and will never use again. I use only sensigrow a/b , sensibloom a/b , b52 and big bud. I actually have a few other additives but haven't used them yet, one being rhino skin ( a silicate) , oh and overdrive although I'm not sure about it, I think the big bud alone would suffice.

Thanks dbkick for your input! May I ask what bad experience you had with the AN Sensizym?

Hey np and nice grow mr bond. your first eh? very nice , can't wait to see a finished product. About the sensizyme , I really had a lot of variables with that grow but I got some type of root issue after adding that particular additive to my lineup. It may not have even been the sensizyme. If I recall I had just bought a liter of voodoo juice and was getting nice results, then I decided to add sensizyme and thats when my problem occurred .So basically I ended up h202'ing about 100 bux worth of bennies (voodoo juice) and lost total interest in changing/improving/complicating my nutrient line. I think I'll be sticking to what I'm using now but I can't say, I'm actually thinking about trying a different brand such as canna.
