how do i set up a canister of CO2 ???

The best way to pump CO2 is to have a regulator, and timer, and pump it into a tube that is circled around the ceiling. The tubes have micro-drilled holes to spew the gas.
If you want to figure the regulator setting, then give us your room dimensions. and we'll go from there.

my room is about 10 x 12.
i have a seperate "active air" system from Hydrofarm, inc. it includes regulator, solenoid, flowmeter, timer, dist. tube. etc. but i'm still reluctant
and unsure of this endeaver. compressesed gasses make me uneasy, is it safe?

Co2 is not for beginners and it can kill you.... It can be more expensive than you would think. Tank, regulator,timer, ventilation fan which can run $200 for a good one.... and intake fan, are what is really required to have co2 enrichment be worth while.
You must understand all of these things for it to be worth while. If you are looking to save money or for an easier way, just vent fresh air from outside into the grow area if possible........or you could try this

How long will it last before changing water/sugar and yeast?
Is there anyway to tell when it needs changed? or is it best just to change every 2 weeks?
or just get a demijohn
that you make wine in and run the pipe like above, and make wine at the same time, it would last allot longer, let off allot more CO2 and you end up with quite a few liters of wine.... or beer.....

1. You will need an empty bottle 2liter or bigger "WITH A CAP"
2. A long piece of aquarium hose long enough to reach from the cap on the bottle to over top of your plant(s).. so be sure u measure how much hose u will need from where your bottle will be sitting.
3. At least 2cups of White Sugar
4. 2 Table Spoons of Bakers Yeast
First start by making a small hole in the cap of the bottle just big enough to put one end of the aquarium hose (or medical hose if you can get it) in and seal it with any type of glue/sealant wait to dry.
Then put 2 cups of sugar into the bottle and fill it up half way with "ROOM TEMP WATER" cant stress that enough if the water is too warm or too cold the yeast will die and not produce CO2.
Add 2 Table spoons of Bakers Yeast and put the cap on the bottle and shake it a little to get the yeast to sink down to the sugar
Place the bottle in grow room and put open end of aquarium hose over your plant... Why you ask? Well most people know CO2 weighs more then O2 so when the bottle starts to bubble the CO2 travels through the hose over your plants and when it comes out the end of the hose the gas falls straight down to your plant... Provided you don't have a fan running or any other types of air circulating devices... Will also work with smaller bottles just use less sugar.

Yes, CO2 is safe. It can't hurt you as long as there is some oxygen in the room. Although you might get a sore back from lugging the full bottles from the store. To calculate the amount of gas required to enrich your room to 1500 ppm of CO2, multiply the cubic feet by .0015. So if you have 8 foot high ceilings, you have 960 cubic feet. That would be 1.44 cubic feet of CO2 required. Now, divide 1.44 by the meters flow rate. If your flow meter is set to 50 cu.ft per hour, you will time it to open for 108 seconds, and at a flow meter of 10 cu.ft per hour, you will run it for 8.5 minutes.

Working in the oil patch, I spend allot of time around liquid CO2 and liquid Nitrogen, because I service pipelines (when I am not doing work for others), and I seen the effects of CO2 on people.
It is dangerous because it interferes with normal oxygen uptake (in your blood, and the brain) for humans and other living organisms needing oxygen to live....and can build up to dangerous concentrations indoors when not properly vented.
Over long periods of time, low concentrations of CO2 may also contribute to other illness....health effects of breathing in CO2 depend on the concentration of CO2 in the air....the duration of exposure, and the health status of the expose peep.
Well first signs of exposure to low concentrations of CO2 mild headache and breathlessness with moderate exercise.....Continued exposure can lead to flu-like symptoms including more severe headaches, dizziness, tiredness, and nausea that may progress to confusion, irritability, and impaired judgment, memory and coordination.

I have found the best co2 comes form people. I fill my wife full of beer and bad chicken wings. When she passes out in her bed i put aquaium hose up her ass and to the plants. The pot grows twice a fast and is much stronger.

hey, i read all the posts for the co2 thingy, and like wut if my room isn't perfectly sealed? Will the CO2 hurt me and how long do i run one if i make a 2Ltr bottle for a (7 foot by 6 1/2 foot by 2 foot)

The complete opposite is true - plants consume CO2 during day light hours and comsume O2 during dark periods.
You could spend £50 on a CO2 air reader off ebay which will tell you how many PPM Co2 is in the air. Then you can try the cheap methods of producing Co2, record the results and adjust accordingly.
