A few solutions that can help you.

1. Let your soil dry out as much as possible before watering again
2. Get some regular sand (playground sand at any retailer) and put a layer on top of your soil. The granular sand will cut and kill any gnats trying to escape the soil.
3. Put a cup of vinegar in your grow area, the gnats will fly in and never leave.
4. Get some fly tape things and hang them in the area, make sure they do not touch your plants. They make some that are organic and non toxic to humans.

Fungus Gnats aren't really a massive problem if you keep on top of them. I had waves of them hatching and dying throughout the final month of my first grow, and it seemed to have had no real impact on anything - although I did everything possible to get rid of them.

All the tips InkTheWorld gave are pretty handy. I found a thread once where some guy left a bowl of honey-coated cereal out overnight and found hundreds of Gnats in it in the morning - so honey might work.

my box is built in my garage so the temps are kinda low 65 deg. and the humidity is kinda high 60% so i think thats what caused the powdery mildew but these gnats im not sure?

Dude, you need to buy a heater dude. Yellow sticky traps and soil drench with knat killer. don't panic, knats are easy to kill.
