starting a wild marijuana population?

I don't know. i have this stupid idea of starting a wild marijuana population. Not to smoke, but just kind of a big middle finger to the government. I'm talking crappy ditch weed lol. Some of you are probably asking, why would anyone really want to do that? I just think its a cool plant. Their is no ditch weed around here lol. im in a very humid environment, south east. Crappy sand soil, and summer gets to be about 100 degree's with often 80-90% humidity. I was thinking some just wild hemp seeds or landrace variety's. idk, im stoned and feel like being the next johnny Appleseed.

Threw about a hundred seed out the window on a two mile strech of road near my house last year. If i se one growing this year ill be over the moon:)

No harm in tossing a few beans every now and again;)

Its a odd soil situation around here, Its about a 1-2 foot layer of sand on top, then it turns into a thick layer of gumbo clay. I think its far to humid around here man. i would hate to waste my time on some moldy buds.

It is a stupid idea.

Why would you want to fuck up everyone's outdoor crop with pollen from ditchweed? Pollen can float for miles.

Even if you used good seeds, left outside it will turn feral in a season or 2 and fuck up serious growers.

My god that is a good point. It would be considerate to NOT do this. I have a few seeds on my first year grow that I contributed to a hermie in another back yard.

I think your on to something. WHy not EVERYONE take any excess seeds you may have (bag seeds, excess free ones from attitude etc) & we fill the sides of highways & all over the place with Wild Weed!

We used to have magic mushrooms that grew all over the highways here. Could just pick it up off the side of the road.

Wonder what would happen if I let my grow goto seed & just sow the seeds all over the city. If we all did it there would be weed all over the place. They couldn't keep up with eradication. Similar to Purple Thrush around here. Every spring groups go out to the ponds & wetlands to tear the crap out. Never gets it all.

Kinda like Johnny Appleseed.. only it could be Carl Potseed :) (Carl not real name.. thank God.. although the real ones not much better.. damn parents)

Ah, the dreams of the stoned.. LOL.. now if only we could get off the couch & put this plan into action then we might get somewhere..

I've had similar thoughts since I was a young lad; Johnny Pot Seed instead of Johnny Apple Seed :) I guess the pollen is an issue, but at the same time it's just as bad imo to allow the govt to successfully eradicate a plant just because you want seedless outdoor crops.

More of an issue in my mind is the transport of genetics. Invasive species can become problematic, and this is voracious plant. At the least I'd consider researching native strains...

There are places in the midwest where outdoor crops are almost impossible to do because of ditchweed knocking up the girls. Iowa, Kansas???

IIRC, pollen can travel up to 5 miles.:spew:

Now your getting the point, I do seeds for fun and have planted gorilla grows everywhere from city hall to expressways to country roads, parks anywhere is fare game. I love going by and seeing things growing from the seeds. Lots of people do it, even with clones some times.

Wouldnt it be kewl if really good buds just grew on trees like that?

Its cannabis, not kudzo lol. I thought about it spoiling peoples crop, but weed grown outdoors in my area is always the moldiest crap. I think that in the long run it could be beneficial though. As the wild plants evolve, and get traits to survive in this area, they can be used to cross with some good genetics. It can be used to develop a strain that fits this specific area for growing. Regardless. I think the government would freak out! Damn, imagine cannabis plants popping up everywhere. just plant seeds everywhere. hundreds of thousands of them all over your area. You'd need like 3 tons of seeds. I wouldn't mind seeing some huge wild cannabis plants!

Could be. Never seen it that's all. Almost everyone I know grows indoors. Im somewhat new to it, only a couple years type thing. I thought our season here in the easter area of ONtario would be too short for outdoor growing.

I know a friend that has a plant or 2 in his garden but that's it. Another guy I know tried an outdoor grow of perhaps 8-12 plants & they were destroyed in a September rainy week. All molded to shit..

was a sad day.. sniff.

Anyways.. I just assumed it was too short a growing season to really grow good pot outdoors here... Guess I am still learning :)

I mean if your trying to make a strain that would be more adapt to this environment, wouldn't wild cannabis plants be the easiest way? uses natural selection to make a plant that is suited to grow in that environment. Then later crossed in a controlled environment with a high thc strain. Hopefully the off spring would be dank plants that can be grown in this area.
