yup...there are flushing solutions, but many people do it w/ straight water...thank you guys...im gonna try flushing less, it def can't hurt too much to skip the last feeding...
Nothing is 'non chemical'. If you grow organically and use only water/low dose carbohydrate supplements for the last 2 weeks, I agree that is basically how 'flushing' goes in organics. In most cases there are plenty of/enough nutrients in the soil to last the plant the last couple of weeks. You could always do one last good feeding with a high P fertilizer just a couple weeks before harvest, then finish by giving just water- and the plants will use less water during the last couple weeks. Organics is about feeding the soil. If that is what you've been doing, then the soil and the life within should quite definitely sustain the plant for the final two weeks. There should be mycorrhizal fungi out seeking phosphorous and minerals for you; bacteria decaying organic matter: retaining and releasing nutrients within the rhizosphere- some carrying out specific, specialized processes; protozoa and nematodes consuming those bacteria and fungi to expel more plant available nutrients... maybe even bacteria pulling nitrogen gases from the atmosphere and making them available! If none of this is going on within your soil you aren't growing organically.yup pure water is flushing thats why i cheat with the molasses as well lol they say its actually 1-0-5 but its non chemical
I grow in soil..I was wandering if I really have to flush? I do use nutes..so I always do..but do I really need to?I don't wanna risk root rot..if I don't wat will the result be?
flush hard for a week then. certainly better than no flushthanks for all the input...i ask this because ive heard the bud wont burn right if i dont flush..ive got a week til harvest ..so i missed the flush peroid..got 6 plants goin..and messed up some dates..just wanted to know if the bud wud still be smokeable..
Exactly what chemicals am I smoking dude? The only reason I flush is to remove built up salts, and I mostly avoid that by using Drip Clean throughout the plant's life.so its healthy to not flush non organic chemicals and smoke it ..........ok then Mr
...In principle you should never have to flush in soil cultivation. It leads to all sorts of complications like waterlogged soil, nutrient run-off, fungus, etc....
Flushing your soil prior to harvest does NOT improve aroma and taste of the buds. It DOES increase chances of getting bud mold within 48 hours and can easily lead to other fungal infections which threaten your crop. The smart way to increase aroma is to buy quality soil and mix it with beneficial aroma enhancers such as worm manure and compost. Rinsing substrates should only be applied to hydroponic cultivations. The idea is to water with a very low EC, special ripening products, or only pure water a few days or a week prior to harvest - again, there should be no need to flush large amounts of water through the system. In coco coir this can also lead to a soggy substrate and increase the risk of bud mold.

Which most would agree means water only (in regular/necessary amounts) for the final two weeks. The connotation is a bit different for hydroponics and what some would call 'pseudo-organics'; in which many growers would use a lot more water.http://www.marijuanafertilizers.com/harvesting-curing-drying-marijuana-flowers-buds-plants.html

JA jajajajajalol, old guy fertilizer complex, he uses shit for his grows and finds "subtle differences in taste". My dad's cows eat alfalfa and his neighbor feeds his field hay, there's your subtle difference buddy
I use DWC and got some great advice about flushing on this site.......I was advised to only flush 3-5 days......I flushed for 3......those buds are cured up nicely now and are a quite pleasant to smoke.....the ash turn grey/white and the joints stay lit.I'm doing DWC and I think I'm going to flush using FloraBlend Vegan instead of using just plain water. I figure its better than starving them for 2 weeks.
yea im not totally organic..using tiger bloom and cha ching..with ffof soil..I don't flush my organic soil grows. I just water without nutes for the last 1+ week before harvest.
Same here, just switched to organic over the last 5-6 months and love it.I don't flush my organic soil grows. I just water without nutes for the last 1+ week before harvest.
