Does anyone grow using water only, no nutes? I always get nute burn no matter what..

This is like my 6th grow. I've always used Fox Farm Ocean Forest. PH is always between 6.0 and 7.0 in all the grows. This time I only used 1/4 of the recommend nutes on the Foxfarm chart and I only fed them once.... other than that its been all water. Immediately after the one feed they started doing this. I'm just tired of it. Is it possible to grow without using any nutes at all? These plants just seem way to finicky. Also are these ones going to make it? They always have before but they're pretty early in flowering still... usually I've never had the problem til later in flowering. :-(

Are you sure thats not from the lack of nutes... looks like it to me.

Holy hell the whole plant is yellow... feed them.

What is your soil?

And you are checking your ph runoff yes?

Hot soil and a couple of 6 waterings is not beyond belief your PH could be highly acidic?

Just pondering..

You know I realized I didn't answer your question.. sorry.

Yes, I have grown more frequently than not, with less nute than most would imagine. I did a great grow with only two Nute sessions and I could only wonder if it needed them.

I think a lot of it might have to do with your initial soil, how fast they are growing, how big you are growing them, and maybe 232905783 variable.. but for small growers and in less than excellent lighting, I myself think many people make the mistake of nuting way too much.. but it is only a guess on my part.

I am checking PH runoff yes.

I just can't see it being a lack of nutrients because this happened right after feeding them. They were perfectly fine UNTIL I fed them. Then this, almost immediately. That's the way it always seems to happen.

The original and current soil is Foxfarm Ocean forest. The nutes that I fed them were Foxfarm Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom.

This is all under a 600 watt HPS. Temps are typically low 80's. I know it would be good to get them lower, but it's hard to do so in the conditions I live.

I'm sorry but what do you mean by "hot soil and a couple of 6 waterings" ?

You already confrimed you had it under control.

What I meant was some folks check their water PH and neglect to check the soil ph (or at least the runoff) and if you get a few factors like a few acidic waterings on top of already acidic soil, well.. you know.. it doesn't take long ..

try sunshine #4 or pro mix for your next grow.....foxfarm runs hot sometimes

I like the soiless mediums... been using them for many a year....pet moss based growing medium......plants stay nice and green

...................those look like root bound plants in flower to me....try using a bigger potter .....i usually transplant right before i cut the lights

Does a deficiency usually curl up like that though?

I should also note the ones that are in the worst shape are consuming water at a much slower rate.

Will these plants make it? At this point I'm just ready for them to be done so I can try again. In my last grows this problem has only affected one or two of the plants. This time almost all of them are bad. I'm guessing a massive loss in quantity? Maybe a little bit of quality? Or will they not finish out at all?

I don't know whether to flush them or give them more nutes. It's frustrating that a deficiency can look so much like burn because if I pick the wrong remedy it will only make the problem worse.

Another thing to note, the tallest skinniest plants suffered the worst, the shortest bushiest ones did the best.

Also notice some of them have "curl up" and others are doing the "claw"...

I know I've heard the "claw" is indicative of nute burn.

Ya, I just don't get it. I always have 1 or 2 out of the 9 or 10 I usually grow that have these issues, but this time it's almost all of them.... =/

BTW, how did those grows turn out? Was your quantity or quality severely hindered?

Quanity Yes alot and i knew that was gonna happen i just let them go until i couldn't stand it any longer. Quality was all around good bud better then most u can buy ( if u don't live in a legal state or somewhere with alot of growers) but it wasn't the best it could be obviously. But if your like me its green bud, seedless bud, and u grew it yourself.

That's what I thought because the nugs just don't seem to be fattening up as much as normal..

and for Magnesium?

Some strains require little to no food, while some need to be fed constantly to keep them happy. One of the joys of growing :p

With the previous grow magnesium was not mentioned to me, so I never did anything about it.

The strain I'm using is wonder woman from nirvana-shop. I'm starting to think that it requires no food with the soil I'm using. Anyone have any experience with this strain? I've liked the strain thus far because it has a very high yeild with good quality.... however, I have a feeling my yield is going to suck this time.
