Honestly, I have no idea at all... as I have been going through bags for the last several months, I have been keeping seeds that looked like they weren't damaged just for this experiment. Because so much of the weed you see around here is compressed as hell, finding good seeds was not an easy task. As it is, only 2 out of 6 even germed. I am guessing though that with proper care and a loving environment, this crop will be better than its parents anyway. (That's what I am hoping....) I have no idea the pheno of these seeds or anything, so it is a total blind guessing game until it starts to show me what it has! I am thinking of flipping them to flower in about a week. That will give them almost 4 weeks in veg.

Yeah, I totally mis-spoke on that... I needed medium to mogul adapters, since the bulbs I am using have the larger, mogul base.

Don't have any clue at all about their lineage... they are seeds that I had been keeping out of bags for the last several months just for this part of my project. Wanted to be sure that I could grow something that seems to grow well enough on its own without finding a way to kill it! LOL Also, this round is about getting my space working the way that I want it. Currently I am still battling really hard with a heat issue. If I close the door to the room that my set up is in, it can get up to 90 degrees. While I know that there are plenty of plants grown outdoors around here in conditions that get even hotter than that, I am hoping to keep it more in the optimal temp range for getting the girls to do their best. Still working to figure that one out but I have a couple of plans. I was thinking that I might put a thick curtain over the door and run a 4" duct with an inline fan to bring in some cooler air... But like I say, I really haven't figured out what I want to do to solve that problem yet. Later today I will be putting up the Monday pics. I think that they are really coming along nicely.

Ok, finally getting around to getting these up today. This is the three week update on the girls and I am afraid that I might be causing them to grow a little slowly because of the temps I am dealing with. I wanted to put some extra light in with the girls, but was having a hard time getting the temps to stay much under 88 degrees.
I went out for a couple of hours today and literally in that time, some issues developed with some of the leaves on the plants... I fed them with a little General Organics Bio Thrive Grow with a bit of Cal/Mag, a little Bio Root and some Bio Weed today since I have a sample pack box of a bunch of their stuff. Hopefully that will help with the issues I am having.

So, without further ado... this is how they are looking at three weeks, about a week before I would like to switch them to 12/12. Feedback is always appreciated!!!

She is a classic looking little girl, nice even nodes, and starting to get a little bit of build up in the inner canopy. I think that she is a little small for 3 weeks, standing in at a little over 7.5 inches, but she is nice and full and round, covering the entire diameter of the pot. I was always thinking she was going to be a scrawny girl, but she seems to want to prove me wrong on that...

BS2:

This little girl is like a stump... straight up, not a lot of bushing out, but the growth in the inner areas by the main stem is just blowing up. There is a whole ecosystem going on under the bigger fan leaves! I was stoked to see how much undergrowth there is on this plant! Now, if I could just get her to perk up and look as happy as she seems to be healthy!!



And then here are the problems that I spotted today. Like I said, they happened within the space of about 4 hours... I looked in on them this morning, and then when I got back home, I found leaves that looked like this....

If anyone can take a look and tell me what the problem is that is causing these issues, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Yes, this one is a full on CFL grow. I went that route to try to get around the heat issues in the small area that I am using, but it seems that I still need to look into a way to cool the girls down. They don't like to sweat after all...

Hi all,
Got a question about cooling a grow room. I am certain that between the temps and the humidity that I am getting, my plants are suffering. I need any ideas on how to get the temps into a range that I can use and get the humidity up at the same time. I am hoping to find an inexpensive way of making this happen!
The room is a bathroom off of the master bedroom. Because of the fact that I have the lights on a 20/4 schedule right now, I sometimes have to close the door to the room at night so we don't have several hundred watts of light on while we try to sleep. When I have the door open, with a large fan blowing in cool air, I can maintain about 82 degrees with 35-40% RH. With the door closed, however, the temps jump up to around 90 and the humidity falls a bit. The plants are about to go on to 12/12 but I want the environment to be right for a good harvest. I need any advice about how to get the temps and humidity into the range that it needs to be, please help a beginner out!

This is the fan blowing cooler air into the room. I don't know the CFM, but I can say that it is pushing a lot of air into such a small room.

This is an overview of the actual grow area. The big fan is just out of frame to the left of the pic here.

A little closer in the grow area. Note the fan in the back of the shower enclosure blowing air across the plants and out of the enclosed area. The rags are wet and put in to try and help raise the humidity some in the enclosed area. Also, the door to the shower enclosure is never closed, I think that would make it well over 100 degrees inside....

And finally, a shot of one of my girls... BS 2 (Bag Seed #2) and the temp / RH gauge that I am using.

Again, ANY help or ideas to get these parameters into the best grow zone is greatly appreciated!

Okay you have a couple of options here both involve getting that hot air out . Now I,m assuming this bathroom isn't on a outside wall.

#1 option - Exhaust into the attic . Get an inline fan and run a duct up into the attic . If you dont want to cut a hole mabey you can remove the bathroomexhast fan and use that hole. Also would be beneficial to cut an intake vent into your door then fresh air would passivly enter the room.

#2option- Cut a duct flange into the door and run a duct to a window with an inline fan .

#3option-If cutting holes is not an option try blowing the hot air out with your fan instead of trying to blow cool air in .You could also do this just thought of it . You could take the door down or just leave it open but Seal off the room with some panda film or visqueen the heavy thick plastic stuff . Then you could rig a duct to pull hot air out of there with an inline fan .Put that duct up high and cut an intake at the bottom .I know you thinking WTF how do i get in ? Go buy one of those stick on zippers made for tarps .After doing any of those options your humidity will change also mabey for the good .Fuck 90degrees where are u lol its freezing here in colorado . I noticed your using the reflectors that come with the clamp on lights . I chunk em there worthless CFL light doesnt reflect in the way HID lighting does ."Usable light for the plant is within a few inches of the bulb.The reflectors act as heat sinks also getting rid of them might drop it a couple degrees in there .Be sure you got fans blowing on your bulbs also to cool them . I use cfls in my veg area to preheat cold air b4 it enters my flower box and for every cfl 20-26 w adds about 1-2 degrees in my box .Just something to think about.

Good help there king of queen. I am thinking that I will get the panda film and stick on zipper. I am going to run a duct through it at the bottom corner to bring in cool air and then I am going to add one at the top of the shower with a fan and a carbon filter to exhaust the heat through the hole where the current bathroom fan is.
I will also remove the reflectors from most of the lights and see if that gives any relief. Thanks for taking the time to weigh in!

Well, another Monday, another quick look at the girls and update. Tonight is the flip to 12 on 12 off, so I hope to have sex figured out pretty soon. Got my Smoke n Grow nutes today and so the girls will be drinking champagne from here on out! Thanks DudeofLife for the supreme nute hook-up!!

My *opinions*
Temps are high, your minimal temp is 77 degrees(that should be your max temp). and RH is pretty low, maybe you could try hanging a wet towel in there. get the RH up to at least 60%

yeah, I have been struggling with that. I am now where it is more like 70 as a low and 82 as a high. I flipped the lights to 12 and 12 so at this point, I am going to start letting the humidity stay about where it is, but for the next grow, I am looking at a humidifier for the room during the veg cycle. Of course, running the ac at the temps come up might have a pretty dramatic effect too, so will have to wait and see on that one.
