Smoke N Grow Nutes to the rescue!

Hi all!
This journal is to show what the addition of a great line of inexpensive nutrients will do to a couple of stressed plants.

First the backstory. This is a first grow in this location and consists of two plants. The seeds were collected over a year or so and so there were several that were just not really viable anymore. Two did pop and were planted in FFOF on 1/17. During the course of their lives, they have been stressed in all sorts of ways while I attempt to dial in the shower that has been converted to their growing space. Most of the stress has been heat, as finding the perfect balance of light vs. heat has been a hit or miss deal.
During this time, I have been watching several of the more experienced growers here and have learned about a hundred different things that I had no knowledge of before. One of those things is Smoke N Grow nutes. I was baffled at the assortment and types of nutes out there. A&B formulas, this, that and the other formulas, needing to get the nutes to the right ph, all sorts of shit that would scramble the mind even if I wasn't smoking while trying to figure it all out.

Then I met Dudeoflife on this forum. He has introduced a line of nutes that is simple, effective and easy to use. Drop a packet of nutes into a specified amount of water, let sit for 15 min or more, mix well, remove the packet and viola! Perfectly balanced nutes, perfect ph (assuming your water isn't really bad) and a line that walks you through your grow with exactly what the plants need from week to week.
If you search on this forum, you will find grows that are pitting this line of nutes against some of the most used and respected nutes out there and not only are they performing as well as the "best" nutrient lines out there, they cost a fraction of what you would pay for the big names.

Now to this journal. I am going to take two plants who have till this point not been fed properly, just some cal/mag in RO water and the nutrients that were in the FFOF soil. Stressed and poorly raised to this point, the plants were introduced to SNG nutes on the same day that they were flipped to 12/12. I want to show what can be made out of these plants with the proper feedings and show the turn around that can be had with this great new nute line! Pics coming in a bit, gotta head out right now.

Sub up and watch SNG nutes come to the rescue of these poor little gals!!

i did read your story and it sounded like slobbering advertisement for some off brand nutrient line trying to compete with the big boys, sorry.

it seems like almost too well Lumi. I can pour on about a cup of water and it almost immediately will start to come out in the catch tray. They were overwatered and abused quite a bit early on and #2 has always looked like a bushy stick, but it the couple of days since I hit em with the nutes for the first time, #1 seems to be coming around better.
I am interested in seeing what 2 will turn out like because all along the main stem all the way up it is just a little bush under there.

Well, it is "slobbering", I guess, but it isn't a paid endorsement.

And it is an "off brand", I suppose, because nobody knows about it yet.

But you gotta start somewhere, man.

Follow this thread and see if my stuff can hang with the "big boys".

they seem overwatered bro...does your soil drain well??

I second the overwatering.

Once you do an application of this stuff, sit back and let it cook for a few days. Don't actually add any water until the pot gets fairly light.

It should green up a lot over the next couple days.

Looking forward to the update.

Looked at my data, I watered them with SNG at 10 am on the 16th, and then a little bit of RO water on the 19th. When I water, the pots are very light, and I can feel the perlite and soil in the bottom of the pot and they are dry. Should I still wait a day or so to water?

Hey- another thing--

Since the soil dries up that quickly, you can water from the bottom- ever done that before?

I see you mixed those nutes in a bucket,

so take the whole potted plant, and slowly submerge the whole pot into the solution,

and slowly raise up. You can let the runoff go into another bucket.

This'll get that soil uniformly wet, and close up any air pockets. Doubt it would takes 2 days to dry if ya do that... This will enrich the soil evenly, too.

Actually, per our discussion DOL, I used the 1-2-3 for this watering and did the submerge feeding like you described. The bucket was not tall enough to get the entire pot below the water line, but while I was pushing it down, the entire mass did pop up, kinda like when you repot, then since the top did not get submerged, I took what was left in the bucket and used it as a top watering. I was surprised at how much she took up while I had her in the bucket!! And I think that there were some air pockets in the soil, but now it is all watered pretty much for sure!!

Good, good.

When you water from the top, you create channels in the soil over time. So some parts of the soil never make contact with the nute solution.

So, if you have a mix as light as I think you do, you water from the bottom every 3-4 waterings.

NOW it should be cooking:) Plain water once the pots lighten up a bit, which should now take 3-4 days.

Some pics of the plants after watering. The one that looks like a bushy stick is starting to grow balls, so unfortunately, BS 2 will no longer be seen hanging around the magic garden. Everyone wave goodbye to him...

Yeah, man. *scratches head*

We're gonna figure this one out here soon.... looks like a prob with conditions.

You think you should ease those lights up a bit? Maybe move 'em another 6 inches away from the plant?

It looks kinda hot in there still...
