So..when will the cannabis laws be "clarified"?

Where do you think Michigan will go with the medical mj law? They have to close some loopholes.(not too tightly, I hope) Right now nobody has a clue as to, overages, plant counts (but those 36 are still in the cloner..who know how many will root....) dispensaries, co-ops..and on and on.

Now don't get me wrong, but I need some "clarifications' just because I want to stay legal. I mean If I got lucky, I could exceed the 2.5 oz died limit, on the harvest of a single plant.

So now imagine, a legal patient goes down to his local grow shop..buys a "room", gets 4 clones and fires them up. Well he has a good first grow...and oops he cuts down 1000 grams wet...well that's gonna be a lot more than 2.5 oz dry....Do I have to vacuum pack it wet to make it fall under the "unusable product" provision?

The way the law is now, I'm immediately in violation when that plant dries, and nobody can tell me when a "clone" becomes a "plant"...

I think we NEED clarification so those of us with cards know how stay "in bounds".

So..how do you think this will play out over the next couple years?

i'm sure like most laws, things will get tweaked as more cases go to court....but as far as big changes, i doubt it will ever happen.

The way I figure it, cmt1984 pretty much has the rights of it. They've given us our framework, they'll most likely leave it to us and the courts to hash out the rest of the law in statutory form.

sad to say but sometimes it feels like this is going to be a problem for this next few generations until everyone is on the same page, people are stubborn and set in their ways and it seems marijuana could remain taboo and risky until the minority anti-marijuana people die off a long with their rhetoric, really I would give it 15 or 20 years at least until marijuana users are 100% without a doubt free of oppression and persecution across the entire nation. I hope I live to see it.

how do you figure tai? i think they are straight. i had the cops raid my house and they were gone in 20 minutes. the law is only gray if you try to stretch it. if you stay within the limits you are going to be fine. the only people who need to worry are the distributors, NOT caregivers but the distributors.

I am still trying to get over the novelty of being able to walk into legitimate businesses and talk about marijuana and it's health benefits openly and honestly with complete strangers. It is as if I have been in a darkened bomb shelter for 30 of my years and now I am walking out into the sunshine without fear. It went down about like I expected, but I am still shocked it is real.
I think the next couple years will define legally a lot of the issues you raise, and hopefully these 200 plant "caregivers" don't set us back too far in terms of negative publicity. Progress...it is an unstoppable force.

I agree..somewhat. The cops are really looking for the "abusers" of the law. However some of the "limits" are virtually impossible to comply with, at least completely. Even with 4 plant in flower, 4 in veg and 4 in "rooting" rotation..if you have any growing skills at all, you're going to be over 2.5 ozs when you harvest.

so harvest one a day. its so easy to stay within 2.5 oz its rediculous. i can have 10 oz at any one time. thats for me and three others.

you shouldnt have any problems finding a method to stay within limits. you know, the law isnt stating that you need to have 12 plants, 12 is the MAX. if your growing skills are so good then grow less plants. go with two veg, two flower and a few in clone. or do 12 in veg to start and then place one in the flower room every week or two. afetr eight weeks youll be harvesting a plant every week or two.

i do the single plant perpetual grow. i always have 12 plants growing, but they're all different ages and at different stages. every other week, i harvest one plant, put one plant into the flower room and start a seed or start a clone. i get 1.5-3 oz every other week when i harvest, any overages gets thrown into the hash bin. works like a charm.

its actually very simple to stay within all the limits.

This is exactly what I am working towards. It sure will be nice when I get all the wrinkles ironed out.

That's a really good idea...and not hard to maintain once you get it going...

I feel for you people with one card but I have 4 cards - I bloom as much as 30 or 40 at a time and I never even get close to my limit because I simply harvest only 1 or 2 plants at a time, I am sure u can do the same thing just on a smaller scale - hell you could harvest it one branch at a time if you really needed to.... you might want to consider getting more cards if your having trouble with overages for some odd reason

i've harvested a plant in sections like that before...i grew one out too big so i took a few branches a week. overages are easy to deal with...butter or hash.

exactly what i do. i also have four cards. fourth arrived in the mail a week ago.

My only issue with picking up more cards is having "care giver" status. Where I live, caregivers have to register with the local police. I'd rather stay under the radar...plus 12 plants is really plenty..
