Question for dog lovers

Ive been wanting to adopt an American pit bull terrior for awhile.

What I cant decide is should I get a male or a female.

Growing up I only had female dogs. But most of my friends had male dogs.

To be honest, i dont care for the moment a male dog gets excited and puts his lipstick on display. Not to mention the incessant leg humping that comes with the territory. LOL.

But on the other hand I dont want a female do who will grow those huge nipples. Also females are normally smaller and weaker than the male dogs.

Help a brother out!!!

And yes, I have my heart set on a pit bull. They are the most loyal dogs, sometimes it seems they can read your mind.

I have two females from the same litter, and they're great. They were fixed, and have normal looking nipples. :) They are smaller, and some might say weaker, but I personally think what they lack in size they make up for in gusto. I have the runt, and the second from the biggest, and the runt is certainly the most fiesty. Good luck. I'm sure you'll be happy with either.

Another bad thing about female dogs, they will kill your grass were they pee.
Male dogs don't cause they hike their leg on things.
Thanks....Now I want a Pit.

Females do it to. I've got an acre for them to play in, so no ruined grass for me. They can jump over my 6' fence when they realy want to. I hope you got a fence.

Hey brother.
I own a pit bull lady at this time and she is 17 years old.
She is at the end of her journey and I have ... been
thinking about taking her for that last trip as of late.

I had her since she was a pup. She has awakened me
to a fire .... been a great friend.

These dogs are stubborn just like any dog. Since you
have experience with canines ...You should have no
difficulties. Do not believe the hype ... these creatures
are fantastic companions.

Your patience and a little common sense will pay Dividend Yield.

:)

My suggestion is to introduce it to other pets frequently as a puppy. My two were raised by my fiance for the first couple years. She didn't introduce them to kitties, other puppies, pets, etc... Now were screwed. If it's cute & fluffy, these bitches wanna make it a play toy. Anything that gets in my yard is toast. Raccoons, opossums, squirrils, kitties. It's terrible.

Wow!! 17 years old! You cant beat that.

I'm starting to think that I should just let fate decide on what dog chooses me. I guess male or female doesn't really matter.

That is some very good advice. I plan on having 1 or 2 cats so I definitely want my pets to get along.

i always think that female dogs have a gentler nature, not just american bullies, but all dogs.. i have had females and males, and the males were always the ones who seemed to be more snappy, and the females not so much.. we have a male now, and he's a snappy fucker.. next dog we get will be another female..

Im leaning towards female.

And plus since it will be from the pound it will already be fixed. So it wont grow those huge nipples.

I have 3 pits living across the street, they can leave the gate opened allday and they never stray from their yard.

I have a 2 and a half yo German Shepherd that I love to death. I have a male who is neutered and doesn't go around humping stuff. Lol. Very loyal, loving and very protective!! Funny thing about peeing is that I have only seen him hike his leg one time. He just stands there and let's it flow. I always wanted a male never considered a female. He is my kid and is spoiled and goes everywhere with me.

I know that German Shepherds are very smart dogs. I just cant get over the fact that everytime I see a GS I think of the police.

Very smart! My boy picks up on everything quick. He can bring me my shoes when we go to play frisbee lol. Here he is

Your right about thinking of the cops. That's one thing I luv bout him is that he totally looks like a K-9 cop.
