yea i was jst watching the comparison video and its dated 6 months ago so, im going to give the guy at the shop the benifit of the doubt however i will be doing research before my next purchase, i feel over the course of the next 3 months more recent comparisons will happen, time will tell, also im going over kind of a strain debacle i want a super dank plant that i can dial in to perfection but is a proven yielder, i would like 2different strains, what would you reccomend for dankness and production, i would like at least 2-3 oz per plant. taste isnt the big deciding factor however i would like something i like, sour sweet piney lemony not a huge berry fan but if its dank its dank i would like to run 2 diff strains perpetually like harvest 5 a month out of my 4x4 and veg elsewhere. you have alot of background with diff strains so I figured you would be one of the ones to ask. Price range i would like to stay within 150 and i would also like to grow out 5-10 per strain to find the perfect pheno. Thanks bro
Soma NYC Diesel would probably be the best. My pheno has super tight node spacing, which leads to big solid colas, like in the pictures I'm about to post.

I'm in the camp that says proper spectrum is more important than total lumens (assuming you've met minimum lumen output). I run a Growzilla with 400 and 600 in the same hood. My LUX readings are well over the high range of what is supposed to be needed (https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/391609-pandoras-box-querkle-dairy-queen-3.html#post5075384). I'm around 140k in the middle of the canopy with both lights on.

I know a lot of people get worked up over lumens, but that's more a function of how close you keep you hood to the plants, and how much you trim your leaves to let light penetrate the canopy. If you have enough power coming from your ballast and good enough ventilation of your hood you don't have to worry about lumens so much between one bulb vs. the other (IMHO). That's why I'm focused on optimizing the spectrum now.

Jerry - sorry to hijack your thread. As always, I've learned something new from following your grows. Keep up the good work!

No hijack. What do you use to measure your LUX? I'd be interested to see what my readings around at various points in the tent.

NYC Diesel @ 45 days 12/12. I think it matured faster than normal as it was vegged longer and was showing preflowers well before I made the switch to 12/12. Sweet, exotic, fruity smelling. Heavenly. Can't wait :weed:

Sharksbreath @ 35 days 12/12. Very similar smell to the NYC Diesel above, which is weird. Still early on this one.

Hey Jerry - I use this meter I bought off of Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000S19W3W

It was pretty cheap, and is easy to use. I was surprised to see how much difference there is in LUX at various points around the room. I think the meter is well worth the cost to make sure you are getting proper light distribution across your plants. The big lesson for me was that my hood needs to be around 15" above the plants for best light distribution. I could go much closer without burning the plants but then the edges of the canopy would be getting too little light. Before I got the meter I was running about 8" above the canopy, which was more light than needed in the middle and not enough on the edges. Considering the cost of electricity, might as well maximize use of every watt...

Harvested the LSD yesterday. This was my first attempt at re-vegging and then flowering again. I harvested the first time, left a couple lower buds, put the plant back into veg, grew out the branches and flowered them in the same pot. This method is effective and easy, though the soil becomes less forgiving the longer you keep the plant in the same pot (the Diamond Black really helps counter this).

In the future, I will only re-veg a plant long enough to then take clones from it, which I did with my last RP OG Kush. But I think this LSD turned out alright. I'm excited to have more of it, as it is the most potent and medically beneficial plant in my stash.

Hey Jerry, that LSD looks bomb. Do you supercrop or LST your plants?
Yes, more LST than supercropping. I tie/bend everything. I've actually recently been experimenting with scrog screens for the RP Sour Diesel and OG Kush, and they seem to be responding well to it. I'll get some pics of them with the next update, which should be in a day or two.

I typically avoid topping/fimming if I can.

Most of my pots are 7x7x9, which is about 1.9 gallons, but the Tahoe and Sour I just harvested were both in 9x9x10, which is 3.5 gallons.

I use the entire General Organics line, minus the fish, only because I have some Neptune's Harvest to finish first. If you go back a few pages I kinda detailed how I do it, but you gotta do a little reading to find it.

Chopped the Tahoe #2 today. This is still my favorite. It is a stretching machine, and the yield leaves a lot to be desired, but it just the most delicious tasting bud I have ever smoked. I call it a "sweet kush" taste, but that only sort of describes it. Probably going to reveg it maybe take a clone or two for a last run before I shut it down.

Damn man, even I'm going to be sad to see that go. I may just have to order some Tahoe, your latest description just sold me on it.

Cool, looking forward to that screen update. When you say "tie/bend," are you referring to supercropping? Or the bend created from the LST? We're thinking of supercropping a few of our branches, probably the ones that want to stretch more than the others.

We topped two of our plants in our last grow, but these methods seem to work better for us too.
