you can only grow 1 plant with a 150w hps?? i see people growing 6 plants with 2 150w hps. i was hoping for 2 or 3 with a 150w and i cant go any higher than a 150w light

I've been really happy with 6 plants under 2 150s.

Last fall I grew out 10 clones in a small SOG under a 70, with 2 cfls to supplement - each gave me a 1/4 oz cola.

dont even bother with 150's ,get at least a 400w.

I use a 400w in a very enclosed space. But i vent it correctly so i dont have heat issues.

Your just going to buy one in the future so why not bite the bullet and get the 400w.

I run an aircooled 430W Son Agro in a pretty small space. (2' x 2.5 ' x 7' -- and the 7' could get smaller w/u much impact.) I put four to six under it and am generally happy. Yields are very erratic for me as I'm a fan of Bagseed Surprise but the setup is fine.

Go to a 400 and a couple blower fans--one for the hood and one for the space--if you can. I would only use a 150W in very small cabinet or PC case setups, or to veg a single mother plant in her own cupboard, or something like that.

Save yourself the trouble! Go to your local Home Depot. They sell 85watt CFL's in both spectrums 6700K & 3000K for about $15 each. Each light is equal to 350watt hps. And the power it will save you is amazing not to mention the heat. I grow 12 plants under 2 lights and have had great success. I average almost 8 ounces every 4 months. And I never have a problem with heat like I did with mt 1000watt hps. My room stays constant 85 degrees. Home Depot also sells nice( Commercial grade) ceramic CFL light bulb sockets kits with nice aluminum reflectors and 8 foot 3prong cord for about $20 each. You can get setup for much less cost than a new 400watt HPS with its ballast.
That makes no sence....So your telling me this light coming out of a regular house socket with no ballast is gonna produce more light? Please explain how those generate enough power to make those lights brighter then an actual 400w grow light..They would cause the power to flicker and everything else in the house would run bad.

I just want explaination why you post false info and not even that ALOT of false info.

I'm a little leary to the claims the CFL make. I grabbed a standard '100watter', mainly to compare the electricity usage compared to an incandescent. I didn't even look at the meter. The light output wasn't near the same.

(Now this wasn't for growing, just room lighting.)

Thats because the 100watt you purchased is really only using 23 watts to equal 100. And its a low quality CFL not a high quality CFL full spectrum light.

My buddy has a similar set that he purchased! Only it was in a file cabinet. The same basic design. With no Co2 and he gets about 3 dried ounces from 8 plants every 4 months. And he has only a 150 HPS too. Good luck!

Ok, if it was a 100W CFl using 100W Ac, whats the benny? *thats* my point.
(I may be ignorant on this and *vervy* happy to be wrong. < green in numerous ways :) ) Heat=Energy lost. (unless you are looking for heat)

Oops forgot to add the BS of "use a CFL and save a gazillion dollars and save the planet yourself!" aspect. The market/media hype is BS. That is kinda my point here. All the bozos are running out to Deep Homo and thinking they are doing good, when they are just trading dollars. (1/2 to Deep Homo/manufacturer and 1/2 to power co, since they will turn on more lights to be able to read the newspaper/book. very similar to less tar ciggys)

<< hops off soap box after saying "Sorry!"

A true 100Watt CFL should be equal to about 400watt In lumens( what ever a 400 puts out in lumens). I myself run 2 85 watt CFL spectrum ll lights from Sunlight Manf. It says right on the box equal to 350Watts each.
But Im just going by what it says on the box. Needless to say from 12 plants under 2 85 wattCFL's. Every 4 months I get about 8 dried ounce of top grade Lethal Purple.

The Benny would be power consumption & Less heat nevermind the amout of energy it takes to make a incadecent & MH & HPS light bulbs

I would think Thai-Tanic would be better. If I recall they are a shorter strain that grow well in small spaces. Very dense buds.
