Holy shit!!! :o

Former two-term New Mexico governor and libertarian Gary Johnson has announced his bid for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Johnson endorsed Ron Paul in 2008 and placed third in this year's CPAC straw poll.

Yep GOP. He was the Governor that introduced the Medical Marijuana program here in New Mexico. He is wanting full legalization.

Okay no disrespect for your thread and I will look for something to contribute but I have a thread with all of the Contenders so i wish to add this one too.

What does he mean by Legalization? That sure will resonate with all the little people.

I'm not fully awake yet..

He wants full legalization and is advocating the end of the war on drugs.

Pro-gay rights and sounds more Democrat than Republican.

This is an interesting contender.. Thanks!

We all know what happens to campaign promises but still it's nice to hope when we kiss a frog we get a prince.

How popular was he with the pot people if you know?
He was a popular governor and wasn't afraid to make cuts and abolish corruption when needed. He started the medical marijuana program and then Richardson implemented it. I, for one, like him. Too bad he isn't well known outside of New Mexico. He could have been a serious contender for President Obama.

As much as I like Ron Paul, I have to admit that Johnson's communication skill makes him a better candidate for President. His age will make him more appealing to the younger voters who already like RP's ideas and it will be easier for him to withstand the vigorous campaign process.
He's intelligent and articulate and legalizing pot may be the least of his "good" ideas.

I take it that is a good asset to have in your opinion? :)

This may be the 1 time I vote for a republican. I've seen him on YouTube promoting legalization and I always thought he was a cool, level-headed guy. Seems intelligent also.
