This is what you want:

The numbers let you know how much UV there is. 10.0 is the highest and what you want.

I run 8 10.0 tubes which work great but the CFLs throw farther and are cheaper per watt. You should be able to find these online for $10.

UV up top.

My local hospital as most out there transitioned from film xray to digital xray. They were literally paying people to take these x-ray print reader units away. Hospital grade wiring with super heavy flicker free ballasts for free.

CFL bulbs are self ballasted, T5,T8,T12s all require a ballast that is built into the mount - I just plug in one cord per side, each side has 8 panels of 2 bulbs each which can be turned on independently of each other to follow plant growth.

It does seem to work pretty well as side lighting but seems to up potency more than yield. There are actually 32 fluoro tubes in there, 16 per side. I really like to mix my spectrum so I have 8 UV bulbs spaced one apart at the same level as the buds and the rest of the tubes are bluish 6500k to compliment the red-orange spectrum of my HPS.

Some people claim that you can "fry" your trichs with UV and that you should leave it on only a couple hours a day. I personally leave it on the entire 12 hours the HID is on. IMO high altitude bud which receives the highest amount of UV (much more than I could hope to simulate) is the most potent.

yup i use UVB in veg as well...lots of people dont know it also helps your plant take up nutrients faster especially Nitrogen and also helps prevent disease..so in veg it will also help, it not used just to up thc levels..the whole grow i keep the uvb on 10-12 hours

uv-b is also good to kill off PM & mold spores... a side benefit. like to use the uv sterilizing bulbs in my vent tubing.

might want to look at bronze tanning bulbs...

From what I have read and from my experience using the 10.0 UVB bulbs, it is only beneficial to have them on in your room for the last half hour or so of your light cycle to increase resin production in flowering and to aid in nutrient uptake in veg, I have only used them in Flower cycle before personally. I have heard that it will break resin down quickly and reduce overall resin if it is left on for too long.

I dont remember specific sites, but overall thats what I heard from multiple sources.
If anyone has proof of its benefits over long hours of use, I would love to hear it.
