We cannot apologise enough to you about this. The reason we haven't released any further information or made a public statement regarding this is because at the moment we are still investigating this matter and we have not reached a conclusion.
When we first discovered this, the customers who contacted us did not mention that there was any personal info disclosed and all the emails forwarded to us did not have them either. This lead us to believe that only the mailing list for the newsletter was stolen this is why we stated that only email addresses had been breached. We are not trying to cover this up or retain any information from our customers but we do not want to make the same mistake again by telling you facts that we are not 100 % sure about.
We are asking all the customers who this email was sent to, to contact us so our I.T Team is aware who has received the bogus email as not everyone has. As soon as we find out the culprit, immediate action will be taken and a lawsuit will be filed.
As our loyal customers, you know that we will do everything we possibly can to rectify this situation. Our customers are most important to us as it is you guys who have made us the biggest and best seed bank in the world. We would NEVER sell or disclose your information to ANYBODY not only as we are aware of the consequences of the breach of privacy of our customers, but also of us as a business. We know how important discreetness is for you and we have always respected this.
This is a very difficult time for all of us and we do ask for your patience. I can assure you that we are doing our best to resolve this.
