You want to put enough lighting that they keep growing. Using CFLs can take slightly longer to flower than with HPS in my experience at least. However, just keep the plant healthy until the end. I don't "flush" my plants, and as long I just stop fertilizing about 3 weeks before chop they don't seem to have any nutes built up in them. Just water and care for them as best you can and when they look like you want to chop them, then just stop your nutes, and give them just water for a few days or if you wish "flush" them. Then harvest a few days after that.
I've been in your shoes. The first plant is always the hardest... The hairs can turn from white to brown from being touched, if you handle your plants alot you will have a lot of brown/orange hairs even though the plant isn't neccessarily done.
You are well on your way, the setup looks good. You have a short indica and a tall sativa so in the end they will definately be distinct smokes. Just keep up the horticulture for another month and you will be greatly rewarded.
