I wanted to point out to everyone that Non-profit does not mean all products are super cheap there, at all times. Non profit means that after employees are paid, expenses are paid, etc, that the owner or investors do not just get to POCKET the profits. There are many non profits out there (like Paul Newman's line of food) that charge a regular market price for consumers.......the difference is that all his profits go to charity instead of his pocket.
My dream is to run a dispensary, and set up a program to take care of low income patients (with inexpensive meds), and pay myself a small salary, as well as my employees, and everything after that is going to set up scholarships, parks, after-school programs, low income med programs.......and ultimately showing the world that the MMJ community has a heart, and we are here for the community.
With that said, I will be waiting until it is legal to open a dispensary, and do so then.
I also wanted to say this.....competition will naturally bring prices down once dispensaries are legal. And honestly, even once legal, I think 40 dollars an 1/8 is not a bad price. 15 years ago, when I was in college, I was paying 50 dollars an 1/8 and 300-350 an ounce. Most products do not get less expensive, and now I can pay as little as 35 an 1/8, so I feel pretty spoiled. But overall, it will be the MEDICAL QUALITY BUD that goes for 40, and the mids will go to around 20 etc.
I am not for price fixing, the market will determine that. But, I do like to point out that I feel that our prices we pay right now are not that bad......especially considering we get weighed bags, and a massive selection for 10 dollars less than I used to pay for shit.
Keep your eyes out for Hash giveaways. I will be doing another at MAMA very soon, once they have another potluck.
Much love to all my MMJ people out there! And just remember, Wayno is probably just feeling picked on.....he seems like he is against pot sellers getting busted, and I think we can all stop arguing, and agree, that we do not want anyone getting busted.....it is all bad for marijuana. But it can also be bad having these people selling weed, when they are not supposed to be selling it. We want the world to get the idea that we respect our laws, and that we, in the medical marijuana community, are a POSITIVE part of the community, helping in any way we can. So take it easy on one another, I think we are all coming from similar places here, just arguing over semantics. PEACE
