My First Real Grow Thread! Socal Style!

check out my sunflowers! i grew these, autum beauty, drop dead red. i cut a few for my gma in the hospital. these beasts grew faster than my corn did. wish my weed would grow at least 1/4 the speed! sheesh...




but everything is doing fine none the less here. skywalker starting to show her sex organs. lol....

everything is real dry and not wilting. im letting everything dry to just before they wilt. i think they have been too moist in the soil lately. cuz now that they are lighter and drier they seem to have been growing more.

theres 2 shops in my area that are supposed to have it, and neither had it in. i had to order it from an online source. it was 13 bucks + 10 dollar shipping :cuss:

just checked the plants. i pulled the biggest purple kush out by the stem gently and the roots are massive already!! damn! thanks to the fox farms soil. also the topping have transformed completly. so its ready to grow again and ready to bud. its not showing any flowering signs. only the skywalker is for now. i thought the others were but they aren't. so yay that is good news.

r they rootbound already? what kind of pots r they in? has that topping started growing new growth? u want the tops to at least split a bit before flowering starts. otherwise it all just grows into one big bud anyways haha

shit looks nice! that indoor is so packed! make sure u got good airflow under that canopy. since youre already 2 weeks in, idk if i would do this now, but next time i would cut off most of the smaller stuff under the canopy. its not going to get good lighting, so theylll end up being small nugs. i havent done this, but i hear that makes the tops bigger because it doesnt waste energy on makin the small bottom nugs

damn that sucks! at least u learn the lesson now, and not when u have 8ft plants, right? :mrgreen:

just keep her on a plain water regiment. she should recover in a few weeks. flowering starts soon so i dont think she will get much bushier than that before budding. might as well keep her around and see what happens

Yea I have had some pheno's of strains withing the same strain be totally different, Where i had to run em in separate hydro systems, while one thrives the other might not.

It should recover, My buddy knows of a flushing agent known to stop over fert burns in its tracks, maybe the BD can still benefit from it? Ill ask him and shoot ya a PM by the end of the night with the name of it.

Sometimes you can get the finicky strains to take a good amount of nutes if u build them up to it.. but ya gotta start low.. then increase em every week or two... I figured that out with the querkle I have.. If I dont feed till 3-4 weeks in veg.. when it starts showing deficiencies from using up all the soil nutrition.. it will burn even at 1/4 strength.. but if I start feeding it VERY lightly about a week after I pot the rooted clone.. I feed like 1/8 strength .. and keep working my way up .. by 3-4 weeks she can handle almost twice as much nutes.. I can normally have her taking close to full strength by the time I am ready to go to flower.

Basically in my experiences atleast.. it works better if you build up their tolerance..

Luger are you still feeding nitro? Or did you cut em off it when they started to flower? I like to feed a little bit of nitro still to my sativa's and hybrids in particular.. then slowely wheen em off of it .. Otherwise they seem to yellow way too soon for me .. the quick finishing indica's I hardly feed nitro once flowering starts..

Overall ... looking good!.. nice choice with lowe's .. atleast they have AC lol.. Freakin home depot out here is a sweat box in the summer.. they use swamp coolers.

i just put them in these pots a week ago. the big ones were in the 5gal buckets(now in 10gal) and the small ones were in 2gal(now in 5gal). the new soil is happy frog(it was cheap), with EWC, Dr Earths #5, dolomite lime, and perlite. so they should have enough N. unless it hasnt broken down yet i guess...
i havent fed them any nutes at all. just tap water and compost teas so far. nutes will be at my door some time tomorrow. maybe i shouldve done a tea. havent done that in a while

THey might stop yellowing just from the fresh soil and extra room...No big deal.. still have tons of Green on them babies :).. what state you growing in Luger?

Yea luger ya gotta get together with us sometime! I plan on getting some dwc buckets and some other stuff goin on real soon! Its gona be fun!
