I have a black widow on my Green Ribbon. I've been tearing down her web every morning so I can water and work with my girls. She lives under the plywood the girls are sitting on. Never seen her, just the web. Well, last night, I saw her. Got a couple of pics. Should I just let her stay until harvest? I mean, she's probably keeping my bug count down, right?:weed:

i think i'd probably let it stay. only reason i thought twice about it is bc its a widow. last year there was a giant whasp nest that i had to walk right by within 2 feet every 2 days or so and never had a problem. decided to leave it there because they eat catipillars.

nah dude, don't kill it, like you said, spiders are good for grows, they kill unwanted pests, plus they don't eat anything in your garden that would hurt it, they are canivores, so unless you're growing some new meat strain, you should be good, lol.

If you have small children around than give it the boot, kill or relocate which ever your comfortable with otherwise leave her be she's beneficial to your eco-system

i just didnt think you would classify it as a carnivore, but i guess some spiders do eat birds n shit. i googled it and i guess your right. they are. learn something new everyday.

growing up my dad always went to the mountains and collected several terrantulas to put in our gardens. Worked wonders on all levels! kept everything out and away. We never had a pest problem with them crawling about. I say keep her. Besides, black widows are majestic spiders.

why wouldnt you consider eating a bug eating meat, it has muscle tissue, on the inside

Kill it ! Where I live they are every where, They have thier place in life but not in my backyard. I go out at night with the flash light to spray them. Thier webs are messy and hard to clean up. They over produce and can get out of control. If a rattle snake was keeping down your mice populaion in your garden would you let it stay there? kill it ! LOL

I would used to have killed it but I try to relocate if I can. All except for those fuckers in my basement.. Nothing worse than walking face first into a thick spider web... I saw one yesterday on the ceiling and it had about 100 babies surrounding it. Bombed the shit out of them...

i would say lety it hang but if ur worried about gettin bit like stumpjumper said relocate it its just tryin to live its life no reason to kill it, gotta put yourself in the spiders shoes and learn to respect nature, this world would be alot better off if ppl could learn to give mutual respect to nature and our animal companions
