There is alot of states that req you to get it insected eery yer to get new plate and if you dont pass u dont drive
Massachusetts has some pretty strict inspections (or at least they did when I used to live there). Florida on the other hand has a quick visual inspection. One of the best states for building your car, because all that shit goes unnoticed.

The grand National was not Supercharged....It was a Turbocharged v-6......Just reading some of the responses on this thread has led me to believe you guys don't know too much about cars LOL
super charged, turbo charged, same shit...

stock that car was mean. i've seen them do 10.3 on the track, ZERO Nitrous...

those are real cars, REAL power....

ok... there's a difference between turbo and supercharger.... but it's minimal details really... 'where the boost comes from' if you know what i mean, which you prob do, since you pointed it out...

They're cheap to repair but god almighty are they expensive to insure over here. I'm on my 6th car in about 4 years, and even the big growling range rover wasn't as much as my 1.9l gti sport thingy. I got insurance due in a week, i have no money, new government laws state that if you can't afford insurance, then you have to declare your car off the road, if you don't have a garage or drive way, then you either pay the insurance, or you have to sell the car, only 3 weeks ago i paid for my road tax, yet wihtout insurank;lasjdipjasdajkdad.k FUCKERS THAT'S MY CAR! :( And people wonder why i dislike government, if you want to catch drivers uninsured, use all the gizmo's you're wasting our tax money on, don't just charge and fine anyone and everyone without insurance. Cars are one of the very few reasons i'd wish to live in america, but good god you have it good, you gotta stop complaining, fuel, insurance, you name it.

idk what vettes your running with but i wouldn't suggest trying to get far against this, especially with a good driver behind the wheel:

that's 9 sec 1/4 mile. over 700 bucks to the wheel...

that's a REAL car.

not some foreign piece of shit trying to be a car....lol...

1200hp 7 3/4 second quarter mile out of a 4 cylinder, jumping 171 feet. Now This is a real car, something you can actually use, something you can get around in the snow and rain in!

Think about this: Airlines have aggressive maintenance checks on their planes based on how many hours they have been in the air. Ocean liners and submarines keep a full-time maintenance crew on hand at all times to attend to mechanical problems as they crop up. Race teams have a pit crew on hand during the race to ensure the vehicle continues to deliver peak performance safely throughout the event.

What makes those of us who drive a car every day think we are immune to mechanical breakdown? And what makes us think that we can drive our vehicles indefinitely without regular maintenance? Our cars need maintenance checks to ensure that they run safely and efficiently. There are an untold number of accidents that occur as a result of mechanical problems that were caused by neglect of basic maintenance issues. And there are many more cases of massive and unnecessary repair costs for the same reason.

i saw this in y@hoo and it really got me to think and look at it topic from a new perspective. mechanical problems will and will happen. bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

VW parts aren't very expensive compared to most cars. My Mk3 cabrio is cheap as fuck to repair.
I like the VW's and all but they are riddled with electrical problems and I know they like to use up water pumps! My buddies 20th anniversary golf gti still gets more looks from the ladies than my wagon (not that I care I'm taken)

Well i woke up to yet more of a piss take, not only could i not afford the insurance just then, but the damned MOT is due in a day or two. Saying goodbye to it on saturday, £3000 to £0 in 3 years, that's now what i call holding it's value, even bigger pain considering as mechanically it is absolutely perfectly sound, just a bit too scuffed up on the outside for a sale of more than £50 or so.
