yeah we like the central location and how its situated. nyc isnt far and neither is phili or we can head south to washington dc. the jobs up there are plentiful even though most are crappy jobs. but the state i live in dont even have crappy jobs. ive been jobless for 2 months and draining my resources. my wife is a college graduate and works at fast food pizza hut because no jobs for her degree. shes in medical and so we are wanting to go there so she can get into pharmaceutical office i think its for the best of my family. its just going to take a lot because we are all out of money already and im selling all my 4 wheelers and dirtbikes and all that kind of stuff getting up a couple grand and moving. its going to be hard but i have to do it or my family will be on the streets in 2 months. i cant have that happen. im going first to start working and check out the area and see what its like and start work right away. then my wife and kids are comming up behind me. is there anything i should be aware of?

redivider, those d-bags are in south jersey by the shore.

up in northern jersey where i grew up it is not so bad, depending on where you'll be. morristown and west of that is beautiful, go east and it is a big bucket of fuckall.

get ready to use your car horn an inordinate amount.

lol, i'm from s jersey, and i don't see those d bags around my parts either.. i think most of them come from places like ny and come to jersey to give it the same shitty name that they give to their parts of ny honestly..

jersey is ok.. lots of attitude though.. never going to have to pump your gas again though.. if you stay away from the major cities and move more into a small town, country, then you'd never know of any of those jerkoff's that they show on tv for sure..
there's still plenty of nice places in nj for new people, but it is super crowded in some areas.. real estate taxes are kind of high, not sure were your moving from, but our taxes are almost 8k a year for right around an acre of property..

well as i see it i can save about 3 hundred a month moving up there. i could save about 250 on rent and save about 100+ on electric. remember i live in southwest florida. it has the same inflation problems that most of the east coast has.i have been doing side jobs for 3 years to pay the bills which i been doing it by the skin of my teeth. my wife is college grad and can only find one job at pizza hut making minimum wage. the housing market here is fucked up too. you cant rent a 3 bedroom house/apartment for under 1000 dollars a month. up there we seen 75 or so houses and apartments for under 800. we already pay almost 4 dollars a gallon for gas. 6 bucks for a pack of cigs. property tax here is too high here which led to thousands of foreclosures. but heres the thing that gets me. i can apply for over 50 jobs thats been posted this week that im qualified for. i applied for 3 here. immigrants are running the show down here. if you apply for a construction job they say they arent hiring or they say we cant pay you what you want. we have mexicans working for us for minimum wage. im like holy shit thats a 15/hr job. they say i know we cant afford to pay that much. its not just me suffering here its the whole state. i can go to northern jersey and get a crappy job for 8 to 12 an hour and my wife can use her degree and make 10 to 15 an hour and we can live the way we want to. if your in florida you can do that.

that's only for the winters as there's no snow in florida in the winters, 90% of the people who winter in florida from nj come back come spring time.. you can keep florida, too damn hot, too many hurricanes, too many bugs, too many animals, etc etc etc..

gas in nj has been right around $3.50 / gallon the last few weeks.. booze is cheap in nj if that is your thing.. smokes on the other hand are closer to about $8.00 / pack, depending on what you smoke, but of course i go over the bridge and get them in philly for around $5 something another or so..

prepare to be the ass end of every joke lol
lol this is very true, but the nj i know is nothing like what i see on the television on shows like the real housewives of nj or even the jersey shore, not that i watch the real housewives of nj mind you, i don't know where they get these people from to be honest with you..
and for the one who said north jersey and south jersey are the same state, i wish they weren't as they really are that much different.. north jersey gives you the likes of the real housewives of nj and the douches on the jersey shore, even though 80% of them live in ny and not nj.. and south jersey has more of a philly vibe to it, if you know what that means at all..
