i live in a rain shadow. i live closer to the 50'th (47º north) but because of the rain shadow created by the mountains i harvest usually at the beginning of October.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_shadowsorry, maybe i misspoke. I'm at around 41º latitude and unless you get lucky with a really dry or warm fall, bud rot and frosts set in mid september, so you're lucky to get them to go til Oct. 10th if that(unless you have a greenhouse). I know that they're hardy plants but once the weather starts getting to the 30's at night, they really slow thier metabolism and growth down (I'm sure your're aware being from canada). we don't get 12/12 til around beginning of august, and even though my plants last year showed sex by now, some didn't start flowering til august, and they didn't have enough time to properly bulk up and really fill out. Fast flowering strains up here are a must, but if your going bag seed or running plants leaning more sativa in terms of flowering times, its hard to get them to mature fully. I don't know where you are located alex, but i'm just speaking in terms of where i'm from. Not trying to rain on anyones parade or anything, but its gonna be very difficult to get 10lbs out of there. i'd love to see you prove me wrong.
and bud rot doesnt set in unless you let your buds get to wet. go down in the dew of the morning and dry the buds off.... this will stop bud rot from forming for a few extra weeks......
thats the reason fast flowering strains were made.... its YOUR bad if you plant a sativa and cant harvest it.... its YOUR bad you didnt get the right seeds......... and as far as that goes.... look up the matanuska thunder strain.... it grows WILD in ALASKA.Fast flowering strains up here are a must
