Making BHO on a lazy tuesday night

agreed....i never purged mine, until a buddy found out that i wasnt purging...he then went on a big rant about how bad the butane is for me and this and that...so long story short, i went a bought one....i still purge every batch, but honestly on a side by side comparison, you cant tell any differences between the smoke...i never once tasted butane in un-purged oil...just sayin

it seems the more people that learn about the process, the more complicated it becomes. then they build this "hype" which is based on nothing but "hype". i find it often DISCOURAGES people if you make things too complicated.

i have never seen anyone who purges it actually take the time to dry it right. seems the whole point of purging is to rush the process.

i think i remember seeing you do it and asking how it turned to hard shards a while back. sadly not everyone has the cali sun for days on end to dry it out though Fdd.

Hey quick qestion fdd... is yours a little more crumbly becasue it just dried naturally without the vac purge? Or is it just as gooey. Either way looks GREAT!

it's crispy, yet gooey. like silly putty kinda. from the point of it being powder i can put my finger on it and simply start rolling it into a fluffy ball. it's dry enough that it doesn't stick to my fingers, until it gets really warm. once balled up i can put it in a dish and over time it relaxes into a puddle. if i drop the ball onto a hard dish it shatters. if i pull on the ball slowly it stretches into ribbons.

You can straight up dry it but im trying to get like a half oz of oil ready to consume rather immediately.. maybe twice a week...

Not the only reason I want a bad ass vac purge setup though

making it faster doesn't offer you any more yield.

i'm just saying, ... "there is more then one right way to do it".

I would have never thought to dry it for an entire week. Now the problem is making oil and waiting a week. Maybe I'll make a half a pan and smoke it now, and let the other half pan sit for a week. WAIT that half pan wont last a week either, shit!!

you only have to wait a week for the first one. while your smoking the first one the second is drying. and so on and so on. i have a pan drying pretty much at all times.

Does oil last as long as herb? I know it takes less to get stoned, but is it a short high?

incidentally i have to dry my pot in the room i grow in and run a dehumidifer or it'd be weeks drying. whats the room temp you dry in like?

when you blast your butane into the pan rock it back and forth as it first evaporates so the oil spreads thin and evenly. once the main bulk is gonna and it starts to slowly bubble i simply put it on a shelf out of the way in a well ventilated area. maybe the top shelf in a kitchen cupboard? i put mine on a shelf in my play room.

Keep wanting to try BHO but i think it would require some for of excursion to a less volatile area, unless the folk on the street fancy seeing some crazy man perched on a ledge 4 stories up with cans of butane, get the torror squad through my door ISO for now.
