I check the pH. It's in the 5s but I need a real pH meter. I'd like to feed them too but they aren't getting it. I spray them with foliar but I really want them to get rooted. I have the flood cycle every 15 min backed by 15 min drain now. trying that. I was trying to let the rockwool dry out and I don't see how it can dry out with constant flooding but...sigh... Please just tell me exactly what to do. started aerating my reservoir and gonna do a res change tonight or tomorrow.

**havent read all the posts but i got something that works 100% or ill let you kick me in the nuttz for fun ;) haha

--oki... since your on synthetic nutes, a lil organic <3 wont hurt... so grab some FFoF, cheese-cloth, take some FFoF pack that into the cheese-cloth and tie it.. (ex: giant tea'bag)
--then grab an air pump, a decent sized bucket (5/10gal), and some r/o water --toss everything in...(wont hurt to add molasses or barley malt.. germs gotta eat too) let it sit for 24hrs/36hrs.. then strain/filter-- feed that to your girls :)
**not advertising this item but (try adding mycos madness from humboldt nutes) ---some odd reason, it works well w/ the FFoF compost tea

Let it dry first. Don't flood for however long it takes for some of that moisture in those dense blocks to evaporate. But watch them and don't let them dry completely. Those look like dense soggy bricks, so I'm guessing there isn't too much danger of that. Once some of the moisture has left the block (squeeze the damned thing if you have to), get the more frequent (but not too frequent) flood/drain cycle going. Flood, let soak for 15 min, drain. Then give them a period of hours to dry before hitting with another 15 min soak. Drain, let dry for hours, repeat. Space out fifteen minute floods throughout your light period, but with long dry periods lasting hours in between. This means your light period will consist of just a handful of 15 minute soak periods with spans of hours between them. Try that.

If they start recovering, then we can start thinking about increasing the frequency of the 15 minute soak periods.

edit:

And be sure to run the bubbler I gave you. Don't worry about limiting your flood periods with hours of dry time in between. At this point we just want to strike a good balance of moisture content and support the plant while it recovers. We're not in the business of trying to stimulate massive growth yet. And be sure you're not giving them too much nute. Nutrient salts are not what they need right now. With their inability to absorb it, it will just hurt them further.

edit:

And no more soak periods lasting for an hour please.

I'm not a hydro gut either but it looks like ph and some sort of def to me as well. At first it was all stretch , then when you got them back to filling out , they look all ,...yep, ' stunted'. Hmmm I'de still say get the water ph regular first ,then get a regular feeding schedule so you can properly maintain them. Then its all a matter of listening to the plant.:blsmoke:

Oh shoot. i didnt see page 5. I answered as if this thread ended on page 4, Duh. I see, the flooding, waterlogging is more the problem?? Yes, i think Lordjin is on the right track. MJ likes to dry out between waterings. I know you cant do that with your set-up, but you need SOME dry time.

Peace, peace, solanero. You're always a champ.

yes I am a girl <<< see?

thanks guys. I would love to scrap the rockwool and do the 3x4 cubes in hydroton pots but now my girls are mostly rooted and I'm just trying to optimize. I will let them dry out but they never do. I have cubes that I saturated but didnt' use and those fuckers are still heavy and moist, some of them. rrrrrrrrrr.....

jin, already running the bubbler. I like it already. THANK YOU. checked the pH but don't trust either method. high 5s (i think). send me the link for your cool-ass meter when you have a chance.

ok I see that you have the 4x4 or 3x4 rockwool cubes and your clones are as big as mine. you have them all stuffed together. they look vigorous and dark green. I see the tea is great. however, how do you keep your clones from getting water logged? I put mine in the 8" cubes and they just got stunted except for maybe a handful of them. maybe I'm expecting a lot. I'm in Hollywood. Are you? Maybe you can stop by and trouble shoot my grow in exchange for, I don't know, one of my special skills of some kind. (credit repair, massage, cooking, real estate advise...)

And look at that. It's not 300.00 like I said, but under 200.00. Pleasant surprise unlike my water filter estimate? Lol. Get this and close to 90% of potential flubs can be avoided altogether. Remember, this is science.

I'm not altogether clear on what he meant by that post, but I do see a cluster of bubbles of some sort at the corner of that photo.

I'll take the credit repair and massage. Thank you.

I think the problems have to do with the waterlogging, which is resolving itself. that and I didn't know I needed to presoak the rockwool. if I had it to do over I would skip the rockwool altogether. can you ask sudynim to post a photo of his pots and describe the contents? I'm thinking I'd prefer to copy his system.
We use a 50/50 mixture of hydroton and Ready Grow by Botanicare. We're not actually using ours as a flood table though (Ready Grow wouldn't work with a flood table). Ours is top feed and drain to waste. We could have built it to be recirculating, but as new growers we chose something that was a little more forgiving. Recently though we built recirculating veg room that cost practically nothing using tuff boxes and poly-tubing. I'll post a picture because it was so easy to make.

Edit- I should add that the picture I just posted of the veg room contains no Ready Grow. It is strictly hydroton. The Ready Grow is only used for the drain to waste flowering room.
