Ok, Let's Try This Then (need a little advice first)

Aight, well....Failed grows in the past due to my life being a wreck right now. Finally catchin' a little bit of a break so I'm gonna try a small CFL grow.

So basically what I'm lookin' to do is 4 plants in a small 2x2x3.5-4 foot table type deal, 12/12 from seed. I've got a comp. book dedicated to any idea I may have as far as growing goes, I write down everything. And, for this grow I have that I want to fit 4 65 watt-300 equivalent CFLs and 10 23 watt-100 equivalent CFLs, the 65 watters and 6 of the 23 watters will be 2700k while the last 4 23 watts will be 6500k.
My question for this would be, is this enough for the 4 plants?


My aim is half ounce for each plant. I may be aiming high, but isn't that the whole point in the first place.

Now, next question would be advice on something store bought (non-specialty store) for micro nutes? Something good. Was gonna go with SPT but don't want to go through the trouble of ordering online.

My ventilation will be different size and kinds of fans.

Seeds will be:
(2)Ganesh Spirit - Sweet Seeds
Quasar - Buddha
Super Sour OG-Can't remember right now.

After everything is set in stone, the grow will be featured here. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

nice I would get alaskan nutrients if you are stuck buying from hardware stores...or do you just want themicros and not the macros? if thats the case you might just have to label hunt as most "regular" stores dont have much in micros. i think 14 cfls should be good for 4 plants just get some splitters if you can to angle them all around the ladies. if the ssog is from emerald it is a big plant so lst early! good luck and happy grow!

Yea, just really looking for micros. Does the alaskan nutrients you're talking about just have the fish emulsion? Or do they have a bloom nute as well? I wanted to go completely organic, but unfortunately my budget is TIGHT, so some will be and some probably won't but we'll see. I haven't used Happy Frog soil before, so I'm researching that to see what it's contents are made up of (local nursery has that but not FFOF). If you have a loaded soil, like I HEAR Happy Frog is, is it necessary to have any vegging nutes when doing 12/12 from seed?

And yeah, definitely going with the Y splitters.

To answer the questions as asked in your first post: You listed a bunch of numbers there so I'm just going to total them up. You are asking if 550w(if I added correctly) is enough for 4 plants. The simple answer is YES!. Just make sure you try and get the most out of each bulb by making sure it is in the best strategical position possible to provide maximum light potential to your girls. I buy my nutes online so I'll let Cacamal finish that portion of the post. As for the question as to pot-size (2L or 1Gal), this depends on you. What I can tell you is, the bigger the pot, the more room your plant has to grow potentially. So, if you are looking to grow bigger plants and fear your roots may outgrow a 2L, go with the gallon pot. This all really depends on how long you plan on vegging. Figure this out and you will answer your question about the pots =]. With only 4 plants, depending on my grow space, I personally would use 1Gal pots. That's just my two cents. Edit: Also, sorry to hear life's got you down man. You are truly not alone. I've got you in my thoughts if nothing else brother. It will get better. This isn't meant to be condescending either, I've had times in my life when the above is all I really wanted to hear.

Well, my plan for the lights was to put one each of the 65 watters directly above each of the plants, and with the rest of the lower wattage bulbs, like you said, place them strategically. I plan to have no veg time, maybe a week just to get the first set of leaves, but other than that it'll be pretty much 12/12 from seed/seedling (I need these done quick). Knowing that, would you still go with the 1 gallon pots, or do you think the 2 liter will do well enough in this situation?

And I appreciate it mayne. Been going through some rough shit, all I want is a break with some good weed that doesn't cost me $350/oz. So any help, advice, tips, or kind words you can offer will gladly be accepted here.

OH, and I might order the Flower Power and SPT from BMO, if they can get it to me in a week, preferably less than. That and pending on how much this other shit I need is gonna cost me.

And I would still like to know if y'all think a veg nute will be beneficial to a 12/12 grow? Or if I can just buy the Happy Frog, SPT, and FP, and do great with just those.

You will do fine with flowering nutes alone as you really aren't gonna wanna use nutes in that first veg week anyway IMO. And, since your veg time is so short I would just use 2 liters cut down to about 15-16 oz or so(leave a little longer than in-half.) since you can find these for free and because the plants will probably never use all the space in a 1gal pot anyway.

OK, well I checked out how long it would take them to ship me the FP and SPT, and it'll take around 6-7 days, so I will be getting those. Cost me around 23 bucks, I think, for those two. Will be getting the happy frog also. Now, having never used happy frog, is it potent to the point where I should "cut" it with some regular potting soil? Or can I drop the seed straight in?

Aight guys n gals, going to start germing them tonight and getting the box I made a few months ago ready to start them in. Making a change from the Super Sour OG to another Ganesh Spirit. So I'll be running 3 Ganesh Spirit and 1 Quasar. (Want to let my 600 get at the 2 SSOGs I have)

They'll be germed using the paper towel method, the ones (if any) that don't pop in 48 hours will be thrown into a glass of water.

After that they'll be thrown into some regular Scotts Potting Soil in dixie cups. No perlite or anything, working with what I have for now which is a half a bag of the potting soil. It's been in my trunk for AWHILE and in the heat we get here (during the last summer weeks), all bugs should be dead if any are in it.

I may encounter a problem with heat, I have 1 intake fan and 1 exhaust fan, my question for y'all is should I make the intake another exhaust and punch holes for passive intake?

Will try to get pictures in a little while, they won't be good pictures but it will give you a general idea of what I'm working with. Will try to borrow a friends camera for plant pictures during this grow though. Well gonna go check for light leaks and get these beans in a paper towel. Let me know what y'all think of the above.

It will be just out in the room. Room stays around 78F or lower. Fan is usually on in the room as well.

Until I get the pictures I'll give a description. The container is about 1 1/2ftx10in.x1ft. The intake fan is in the middle of the back blowing between the lights and where the plants would be, the outtake is on top in the middle of the four lights I'll be using to start these until I make a permanent box. The fans are cheap little 5 in.(?) fans. Temporarily will be running 4 2700k 27watt CFLs, will upgrade to higher wattage and eventually more lights when the time comes (this weekend hopefully). Oh and the box is lined with aluminum tape mainly to light proof the box (box is green), but it should act as a better reflector than the green as well.

If this doesn't help, I'll just test it out. Either way let me know.

Aight, well no plants yet but I'll have pictures of the box late tonight. Got to be super stealthy with everything.. Got to add light traps around the fans on the outside of the box. Then we'll be just waiting on these beans. HAPPY GROWING!
