The Only Cabinet You'll Ever Need!

So glad I own my house. :)
the black gorilla brand duct tape works really well for blocking light leakage between gaps/ cabinet doors. The most important part for me is that it blends in if my landlord ever needs access to the property. I would love to create a bigger space but that would potentially draw even more suspicion.

wish i owned my own house. id have everything paid off :D i'm hoping in the near future when this investment i have goes through as planned!

I did not take pictures of the cabinet during its construction but i will gladly take pictures of the areas/parts that needed to be modified for the build if that would help at all...

I haven't had to pay for flowers since 2008 when i first moved to the west coast! with at least 8-10 harvests a year with around 8-10oz dried harvests that makes out for a pretty worth while investment! saving tons with the potential to earn some :D

We have very similar Cab's man :) ...Great setup, Your using Soil, where as I am in DWC/Hydro.. and you appear to have between 4 & 6 plants where as I usually have 2 but in my pic above its just one huge plant :) How far along are your ladies at the moment? I can't wait to see how your grow goes :) +REP for a great Cab. :) !! and I have to say those Sun-Systems - Super Sun 2 Reflectors are great in rectangular cabs :) I look forward to your next update !!

Below I've added a LINK to my thread if you want to compare our Cab's etc :-

I have no problem with mould............Yet! lol :) I would think Piecemasta would be ok too, my air-flow is pretty good and I also run an mini A.C/Dehumidifier unit during the day, Fingers crossed mould won't be an issue, but I'll take it one day at a time and if I see any suspect signs I'll be sorting it asap :) - STELTHY :leaf:

Hello everyone,
I have been growing for some time now and wanted to share my semi-homemade cabinet with everyone out there in cyber world. I have had great success with this design/ setup achieving better results with each grows. There is always room for improvement though... So I was wondering if y'all would be able to offer some constructive input into design/ best strains for this setup/ etc.
Cabinet specs:
Ikea cabinet to match the rest of bedroom furniture
Height 96”
Width 40”
Depth 23”
Air cooled 400w HPS for flowering (electronic ballast)
3 fans (2 blowing on the canopy and 1 under the canopy)
4 Air intakes w/ filters
T5 fluorescent fixture for veg area
2 Carbon filters (at exhaust) refill filter every few month with new pellets
Dual Dayton squirrel cage blower (for exhaust/ always on/ lubricate motor every two months) approx. 160cfm
4” axial fan (to cool HPS bulb) exhausting air outside
Mylar
Plastic lids (from storage containers, to catch soil run off)
PVC (connects T-joints together and placed under containers to allow for run off onto plastic lids)
Hanna waterproof PH & EC meter
Trellis (had to cut out because I needed to spray the plants in the tub)
Weather stripping and black duct tape to prevent light leakage
Nutes:
Bontanicare Pure Blend Pro line with botanicare/ organicare supplements (liquid karma, silica blast, humega, huvega, seaplex etc.)
Usually feed at full strength every other watering.
Recently started checking soil container runoff to monitor ph and ppm. Add lime when needed.
Last harvest I had 10oz of immaculate flowers (strain: bubblegum) this harvest I brought a NYCD and ChemDawg into the mix. 6 plants total
I want to start foliar feeding also!

The flowers are top shelf… but I need to get more in tune with my soil which I have recently been trying to do example finally taking its pH, not just the liquids I put on top of it.
Thanks for reading everyone! Your constructive/ experienced input is greatly appreciated!
Hi dude, are you pulling fresh cold air 'IN' from outside or venting your hot air/exhaust 'OUT' of the window duct ?? - STELTHY :leaf:

much appreciated :) i'm trying to find some ways to maybe improve upon the design i'm currently using. feel free to share/make any suggestion!
Some possible improvements :- You could change from Soil and go the Hydro route.. You'll get bigger plants faster :) Also you could add a 10.0 UV-B Reptile lamp (during flower) for a huge THC Boost! and/or some 6400K (Blue-Spec) side lighting - for extra resinous buds :) :) apart from that you look all set :) I have a 250W, 400W & 600W Ballast/s but have not yet been able to run the 600 due to its crazy running temps, and I am not pulling cool air in from out-side! ..just air from my house - and I exhaust into my house too! But depending on the climate of where you live or if you have a AC you can run whilst your lights are on .. you could always try you hand at that & possible beat me to it :)

Iam also running a 'Full-Spectrum' ie/ 2X 6400K 125W CFL side lighting (blue spec), 2X 6400K 45W CFL side lighting (blue spec) and a 10.0 20W UV-B tube (Violet/Ultra Violet A&B spec).. and either a 250W, 400W or 600W MH/HPS Boostable Lumatek: Digital Ballast hosting either MH or HPS lamps (6400K/2700K).. depending on whether my ladies are in Veg or Flower.. ,and also depending on what temps allow !! :)

I doubt either of us will get to enjoy Co2 as its very hard to keep the room sealed (with the lights on) and still cool the HID lamp, mind-you in saying that are you running a separate air IN/OUT-take for your odor and lighting ?? If so you maybe able to enjoy Co2 after all :)

Hope to hear your thoughts soon :) - STELTHY :leaf:

I appreciate your time, input, and pics! Everything is useful.
Can’t say ive had a problem with mold. But spider mites is another thing! Our duplex is surrounded by vegetation and I sometimes have my window open and also have a dachshund who likes to help my garden. Everytime I open the cabinet she comes running in the room to see what is going on and hopes to get a leaf or two  for some reason she thinks leaves are like treats lol
My ladies are currently late week 4. I recently switch to coco as I find it cleaner, more sustainable, and holds water better than the happy frog soil I was previously using. I bought another tent to expand my grow area. I was considering building the dwc bucket diy I found from rumpleforeskin on gardenscure. I just am kind of hesitant because hydro is less forgiving than coco/soil. I find that indicas/ hybrids work best for cabinets, but ideally a plant that stays short without to much top foliage as the lower nodes needs exposure also. The og strain I have is real hearty but the leaves are super fat whereas the dj shorts blueberry closely resembles the og but has slightly thinner leaves allowing more light to penetrate. I recently encountered some spider mites :/ shit is scary! To combat and kill them I use ultra pure by prescription treatment. http://growerssolution.com/page/GS/PROD/70-21401

I was wasting money on that bs safer soap spray that didn’t get rid of any pests!! I would recommend this to everyone. Although it kills beneficial organisms killing the pests is top priority. I spray the bottoms of the leaves with a one gallon pressure sprayer. Way easier then using a regular spray bottle plus able to get a lot better coverage. I let the oil/water mixture soak in a bit then rinse it off with fresh water espically if I have to once into flowering. The active ingredient, petroleum oil was the only thing I read or found that actually does the job. I recently started brewing my own actively aerated compost teas to help promote stronger growth and eventually rely less on organic fertilizers to supplement what the lack of bio-diversity in soil didn’t offer but soon will. I am using ancient earth by GH and supplement that with azomite molasses and seaweed extract. Letting it brew for 15 to 24 hours then drenching and foliar feeding. I had a trainwreck plant that wasn’t growing, had super red steps and hardish leaves. Gave it a little azomite and the next day or two a few new green shoots shot out. Must have helped! I plan on watering weekly, using plain water one feeding, tea the next, and finally a little organic nutrients to do what the bacteria and fungus can’t.
I recently bought a 4 inch centrifugal fan to replace my 20 year old dual Dayton blowers that were used to exhaust the cabinet. This fan pulls air through two charcoal filter approx. 18x8 each and the air through the light fixture. Temps are hovering around low 80’s when lights are on.
I am pulling air out of the room and exhausting outside through a 4 inch duct.
The light is sealed and exhausted separately. All exhausts connect to one 4 inch centrifugal fan to send it all outside. before it wasn’t vented outside and the heat from the 400w light and electrical ballast made the room temp a little to uncomfortable.
On another forum someone also suggested adding co2 but with this little space I have I would rather wait to do that once I actually had more space.
What things/ products/ techniques work best for you?

I am seeing great results from my UV-B tube already :) .. and am loving my new 400W Digi-Lux Dual Spectrum HPS lamp, I love running a DWC setup and don't think I'd ever stray from it :) .. I am getting seriously good results from using my SCROG screen :) I am mainly using CANNA nuits and am using Hammer Heads Pk 9/18 instead of CANNAs PK 13/14 since HH is designed for indoor use, where as CANNAs PK 13/14 is designed for outdoor grows .. I also use superthrive, and later on will be using Cha-Ching, and ROX. Apart from that the only thing I wish I could use is Co2 but since like you my Cab is in my bedroom Co2 could be a bit hazardous to health if its not exhausted to outside after its use, or if it leaks etc...

It's my 1st go at running a full spectrum lighting rig, but so far so good :) I also have a thermostat connected to 2X.120W bar heaters either side of my cab so if and when night temps fall ( especially if I need to use the AC) the stat keeps my room consistent at 26oC :)

Oh ... I like to 'top' my plants many many times :) ... I have over 80 bud sites on my 1X Royal Haze plant atm :) ... and if any parts of the plant get too tall above the SCROG screen I supercrop the taller stems! :)

Have a look on my thread as I have documented building the Cab from pretty much 'scratch' ( when it was my wifes closet ) :) .. and have shown everything I have rinsed and how to do it etc...

I also use a 6" Odor-Sok on my intake to prevent backdraft smells escaping and it also stop me from getting and dust, bugs or spidermites etc inside my cab... I clean my grow-shelf with Lemon - Multi Surface cleaner every other week just to keep the room hygienic ...

Hope that's helpful/ informative dude :) - STELTHY :leaf:

I also run CCTV cams inside my cab so I can check on my lady/s, and temps etc without having to open the doors and releasing her sweet peppery smells :) .. I did this mainly because when my wife was pregnant she had hyper sensitive smell issues so to be kinder to her I installed CCTV. Now its more of a talking point but still used and helps keep my Grow 'Stealth' :) - STELTHY :leaf:

CCTV in your grow cab!! that's awesome! how much did you pay for this? piecemasta, wouldnt you prefer to get the air from outside and just exhaust in the house? that is what I do in the main room until I go spend more money on a 30foot of 6" ducting!! Really nice job on the cab, I couldnt believe how small it was with the door close, it looked so big inside with the door open, I guess you used the space really well... check out my new project I am almost done!! :

screen.jpg

It's my LED experiment, I just threw the screen there for the picture , it will be nice and straight hopefully at 12" from the lights ( which I am waiting for!!! ) there will be about 250w of actual power output from the lights, not nearly as big as yours! these 2 babies are going in there as soon as I get 1 of the 3 LEDs hehe :

SLHTD.jpg

again really nice job with your cabinet!! looking forward to see you next harvest! you get a lot of weed out of this little sq/footage... how many sq/ft of growth do you have? my screen will be 4sq/ft... I would love to get close to what you get,... only there will be no vegg room in mine!! ok good luck!!

Latest pics of ladies. not my best :dunce:
I strongly recommend getting a UV-B light in there .... you'll have THC enriched tops all over the place in very little time :) the UV-B shocks the plant and makes it believe it is going to die early and in an attempt ti get pollinated it puts out a huge coating of THC as a kinda defence mechanism :) which is a complete bonus for us and doesn't actually harm the plant at all :) - STELTHY :leaf:

I just ordered a UVB lamp from this website :
http://www.petsandponds.com

Fluker Deep Dome Lamp Fixture - 8.5" Diameter
Item Code: 17066721

The Deep Dome Lamp Fixture features an extra long reflector dome that extends beyond the face of the lamp, preventing the lamp from sticking out. It is perfect for use with Zoo Med’s PowerSun UV lamps and UVB Compact Fluorescent lamps. The highly polished aluminum inside the dome greatly increases UVB & UVA output.
Additional Information:
For use with lamps up to 160 watts
Ideal for use with the:
Power Sun UV Lamps
Compact Fluorescent Lamps

22.99$

Exo Terra Solar Glo 125 Watt
Item Code: PT 2192

The Exo Terra Solar Glo Sun Simulating Lamp is the solution to one of the most important aspects of keeping reptiles and amphibians, providing the benefits of natural sunlight. The proper balance of ultraviolet light (including UVA and UVB), visual light and infrared light (heat) in one easy-to-install bulb makes the Exo Terra Solar Glo the choice of professional breeders. The Solar Glo is a full spectrum light with carefully tuned peaks to ensure appetite, activity, brilliant colours, and calcium absorption through Vitamin D3 production, and above all to prevent metabolic bone disease.

Optimal levels of UVB, UVA, visual light and heat in one bulb
Self-ballasted mercury vapour bulb
Provides the benefits of natural sunlight
Helps prevent metabolic bone disease
Increased UVB penetration distance (+30 cm)

The Exo Terra Solar Glo is available in two wattages, 125 W and 160 W. Exo Terra refrained from developing lower wattages as lower wattages simply do not generate enough heat for these self-ballasted bulbs to work properly, making them unstable and unreliable.

Quantity :

$CAD 39.99

80$ including shipping ... what do you think stealty? what I needed?

where did you get this info stelthy?

that is the one I am looking for? http://reptileuv.com/megaray-eb-60-watt-flood-uvb-lamp-kit.php
I can't remember exactly...I did alot of research on-line, and also talked with "cannawizard" on this site as he is very into all things UV :) !! The lights are very bad for both our skin and eyes so be extra careful with them! Dont look directly at the UV-B lamp when its switched on and keep the ray of light well away from your skin as its renowned for causing cancer and burning your eyes retina.

The ones rated at 10.0 are the strongest ones and its best to use them during Flowering for no more than the 12/12 light schedule I'll dig out a pic of the ones I used :) ...

You can have the UV-B as close as 6" away from your canopy.. maybe more, I keep mine 6" away :) I may double up on these tubes ready for my next grow :) Hope that helps y'all :)

Ps/ Here's a LINK to another UV-B thread that both I and cannawizard have posted on its got alot of relative info:-

https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/96571-10-0-uvb-light.html
