hi i need to know the distance to keep my lights from my plants there 2 compact floresent tubes 2ft not sure of the watts tho?
If you now use 2' tubes wouldn't this fit?im growin in a small area so HID would be to much of a problem
about 2". Don't listen to the HPS ass clowns who worship the HPS. They think there is only one way to skin a cat. With HPS you are stuck with a narrow spectrum light, other ways to produce better quality stuff man, the way nature does it. Of that is all you have is 2 fluorescent tubes you are way under lit. You nedd actual 150 watt per plant and I recommend 3 or 4 32 watt cfl's or higher...
Look at how many real watts all your lights are using...then harvest your crop when ready...once you actually get a grow finished you'll realize how shitty cfl's are vs HID...you are basically trashing every real indoor grower by making the statement that florescents are the way...HID is the way, and will be the way until LED matures to the point of providing proven results beyond what 1000watt HPS lights can do.Funny how many of the HPS people think it is the holy grail... It is a mono spectrum light, you need more than that, Fluoro is the way.

Ignorance, sheer ignorance. The answer to that is however far away from your plants your trashcan is.
Buy some HID lighting. You will be glad you did.
Hey, I have a million candlepower boat spotlight here...think it will work?. All kidding aside, I have heard that the high wattage(200)CFL's may not be any more effective than the standards. Not sure about that one b/c I don't use them.Ignorance, sheer ignorance.

While he did say 2' lights, and that's all, just for example, if he was using 4' T5's he would need 10 of them and burn 540 watts to get an equal amount of light as one single 400-watt HPS ... and he would still lack the penetration of the 400-watt HPS.It hasn't been determined just what light he's using.
Has anybody considered that he might have T-5's?
Nothing wrong with them. I wouldn't go throwing them in the trash can.
Suggesting to someone that they trash their lights before knowing what is being used is ludicrous.
Please leave the ego outside the door. And to think that it only took 39 years and about 8 or 9 months of growing to get as ignorant as I am when it comes to what works best.
