maineyankee; although i would recommend you try some MOB, if odor is an issue do not grow mob, do a round or two with another good quality plant and save up for a carbon filter or some other odor control devise. although the rotten fruit smell is strong, it does not hide the fact its marijuana. and it will wreak!
again, set yourself to be able to grow her safely first, then go after her..

just my .02

Update on my getting clones ... I am blessed to be receiving this Friday (4) Northern Light Blueberries. Currently they are in soil and under great care. I am hoping that they will take to the transition (going from soil to bubble's) rather easily, as I will def be asking some questions on here if they are in distress. Looking very forward in getting these ladies into their new living quarters, and hope they I can be a great landlord for them. I know that I have studied hard, and feel very strongly that between my wife and I, we can do this. I need to do this, for i need to grow my own meds now. Thanks to all for your support and help. It is very much appreciated by myself. God Bless, Peace, and Love

mother of berry ; M.O.B
an afganica breed, clone only maine strain.
a rotten fruit smell is heavy during growing and after full cure.
flower time varies among preference but average accepted time is 49-55 days.
grows short 2 meters 2.5 max, very thick and rigid stalks, fat and very leafy. (do not clip leaves during growth, massive reduction in oil creation. i start cutting at day 41-42 ish and do a few leaves a day until harvest)

Here is a patients mob at day 40. older photo of mine but not hps and gives a good representation of the genetics.

Wow I just read one of th senior guys @ MNS was looking for this.

Ewww, i've never done this but, after losing a clone that had been rooted in a hydro system when i tried to transplant into dirt, i'm a bit concerned. I've heard about people washing out the rootball and transplanting into hydro successfully but those were experienced growers. Watch the solution temp in the bubble buckets and keep the nute levels low (i might even think about using straight water pH'd to about 6.3 or so) until you see new growth. Be aware that this transplant may cause some or all to go into shock and do nothing for 1-3 weeks or so while they say "what the fuck just happened?"...

This is where I am a bit scared as well (MB). The plan for me (please correct anything) is to gently remove the soil content from the cup that they are currently housed in. Then I plan to place them into a Cloner type environment where I will be using room temp water with no nutes added. I plan on doing this for the first 18 days which puts me on December 12th. Light schedule will be 18/6 and very far away from them at the start, lowering 1 inch per day, until I feel that they have made some new roots, and also that they are getting healthy. Sort of like me when I have an operation, the critical time is the first 3 days. I hope that they do well.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated by all :-)

I'm confused. If the cuttings are rooted why put them in the cloner?

If it were me - i'd take the rooted clone from the container and soak the rootball in a basin of plain water for a couple minutes. Then i'd take the plant out of the basin and use the sink sprayer on low pressure to wash out as much soil as i could get. The tough part is gonna be getting the roots through the holes in the net pot without causing too much damage. I'd think about using a very oversized net pot (larger spaces in the netting) to minimize damage and make up the difference with hydroton (or whatever you are using for stabilization in the net pot).

You sure you don't want to go with a soil based medium? I'm really happy with the hybrid hempy bucket method i've been experimenting with - seems like the best of both worlds a good soil base that provides stabilizes and a nutrient reservoir that provides a steady flow of nutrient and water. Plus i don't have to worry about isolating the noise from the aquarium pumps. When i am making an AACT the pump makes more noise outside the room than then vortex fan cooling my HID.

I have transplanted from soil to hydro a few different times. Let it soak a few minutes then wash off as much dirt, peat or peralite as possible without being to ruff. As you place them into there net pots I'd only be concerned with getting the longest root (tap root) threw one of the openings in the net pot. I have seen seedlings stress from repotting or going from hydro to dirt, but have yet to experience any lag time or stress from transplanting from soil to hydro.
Just ease into the nutes and you'll want to clean your rez after the first week tops. To make sure you remove any residue from the bottom of the tank (i find that a small shop-vac works great).
Enjoy your freedom maineyankee!

I just cannot get any sleep wondering just how I am going to do this, being a newbie and all. In matter of fact, I braved out of the snowstorm today and went to the only game in town ( Home TeaPot ) and got some some Scott's Organic Potting Soil and a bag of perlite. I was all set to do Hydro (Bubbleponic's) until this offer came in with (4) ladies in soil. I thought the transition would be hard, but not as hard as what I have read in RIU and other internet sites.

I think I am a very patient soul who will take his time bathing the girls once I get them home. I do understand to get as much of the soil away from the rootball and hope that the many roots will fit into the 4 inch net pots that await them for the veg-cycle. I will def take my sweet time with each one. If I see that it harder than I anticipate, I will have soil w/ perlite at the ready and then just go that route.

If it appears to be too much for me from the start, I will just continue to do soil for the veg - cycle, and then before flowering, take some clippings from them and place them in my DIY Cloner. Then I will finish the (4) ladies in soil, and start a new crop using Hydro. ( I really think that this is the way that I will proceed for my first grow).

I really thank all of you for your input.

Happy Thanksgiving

Ahh, gotcha Scar...

Unfortunately, Maine's dispensaries do not dispense plants. And for the most part they don't really dispense meds either.
