Outdoor scrog = security???

I am planning my outdoor grow for next season. I plan on having around 24 plants in my garden and am probebly being a little paranoid. Last year we had a couple of flyovers by the chopper patrol, and even though we where 'legal'
(according to the LOCAL law enforcement) its the feds I worry about.

So... Does anyone have an opinion about doing an outdoor scrog instead of 'christmas tree' type of grow to enhance security? I figure that they are looking for stands of individual plants rather than a large rectangular green 'field' of greenery. I should mention that this is growing in my own property, not a gorilla grow, so I figure that this would blend in to the surrounding landscaping. I have a large veggie garden and other landscaping, so might this be more of a stealth grow? I'm willing to sacrafice some volume in the name of safety.

One outdoor grow I did was set up a few poles and stretch some wire along the poles similar to how you would do grape vines. I then grew all the plants in rows training them along the lines and tying them off. This works like a scrog in a way. It's just a good idea to have the lanes where both sides get plenty sun.

hypothetically wouldnt you be making them more visible from the air because you're increasing their footprint? Thats what im thinkin anyway

I'm sure you are right about a bigger footprint, but its a disguised footprint. I figure that they are looking for stands of individual plants, when what I envision is a solid carpet. I have all kinds of other things growing around here as well, so I figure it will kind of blend in to the surroundings. If I was growing them by themselves, say out in the woods or something then you would be correct, as no way would this blend in.

I was planning on doing something similar to you - backyard growing - I'm only shooting for 6 to 8 plants and will be "hiding" them within my veg garden and around the yard... we have big stands of raspberries and plan on putting at least half the plants on the southern outside edge - should blend in pretty well. Also have lots of perennial flower plants that I can throw a plant or two into and would be hard to detect.
I'm new to growing but unless someone is right on top of the plants or are specifically looking for them I think most people could be sitting 10 feet away from a plant and not recognize it when surrounded by other plants.
If I were you I'd try something like that if you have the space etc. 24 is a lot to "hide" around the property though...

yea creeper just mentioned what I was going to say about the flowers. Ive seen growers here on rollitup disguise their marijuana plants with fake flowers in their own backyards and what not. In my opinion, they make all the difference in the world. I'm not sure how well little flowers would disguise a scrog of green from a fly over though. Legally, I have been told that the property you own, you also own air space. I cant remember the height, but it quite high, and if helicopters, planes or anything go flying in your airspace, thats trespassing. I heard a lawyer used that in a case once when a helicopter spotted a growers plants in his backyard. And apparently the pilot was in the wrong flying there, was not supposed to, so the grower became innocent, and got away clean and free lol.

i think that the government owns the airspace, remember they guy that bought a bunch of weather balloons and filled them with helium then floated way above his house he got busted for being in the airspace without permission or some other bullshit.
