ps . i always use the big bud mum, and a strong male from another pack, so the offspring,, show mainly big bud traits, but have some of the new genetic traits/flavour as well

I know there are lots of people that have been growing in Tassie for generations... but it'd be great to be responsible for Tasmanian forests to be filled with Marijuana... and of a Bastard strain I make no less... Doesn't it only have to be growing wild for 50 years to be considered landrace..?
I'm sure given a couple of decades it'd sort itself out into something stable suited best for the environment and eventually someone will consider it a Tassie Landrace strain...

No, seed orders come through.. Its taking that first jump of sending $40+ to an overseas stranger in the hope theyll send something back. But they get it to you. TBH i just get it sent to my home address in my name, and I havn't gotten a failed shipment yet, maybe your not paranoid *shrug*. Pick a carrier thats stealth. GL

I was speaking less of seeds and more about packages comming into/out of Australia in general being higly regulated.
Years ago I was in contact with a researcher who is an authority on Australian scorpions. He would have loved some of our species just to have something new to examine and of course we'd have loved an Australian species or two as one has never been reared in captivity outside of Australia. From what he explained though the mailing system was/is so regulated (due to fear of biological contamination of native species) that exchanges were near impossible. Perhaps it is regulated, but not as heavily as he suggested? Many of the people like me were amateurs with little to lose, this person had university and state ties so of course he did have things to lose.

I know someone in Tassie that was mailed some maize from Peru or somewhere in South America... They just sent it in an envelope no worries...

Was the person I was formally in contact with correct then? Australia is particularly careful of organisms going in and out to protect it's natural fauna? I know rats over there are devistating on some species.

Australia is a lot more worried about what comes into the country than out of it... Because we are fairly well isolated from the rest of the world the government does seem to like to keep possible harm to a minimum...
I met a man about a year ago that used to work in customs at an international airport in WA... He decided to randomly search this one middle aged guys luggage, and the middle aged guy was in a wheel chair... In his carry on the man had a big jar fall of weed, the young man looked at the weed then back at the man confined to the wheel chair... He had the man put everything back in his bag and told him that he didn't see anything...

i think its all luck to be honest, wont say who lol but ive seen 10packs of ecstasy, coke and bud been sent from UK and Amsterdam to Melbourne. was in envelopes inside cards.

Indeed because we have a delicate ecosystem, and organisms introduced into our country have generally gone into overdrive because of the much more favorable biology here. ie. the European wasp and bee, just went crazy when they came here, The cane toad, rabbits. Since then we have massive customs operations. If you bring in obvious wood pieces (african masks, some sort of statue) It will be destroyed upon arrival into Australia or you have to pay for radioactive treating to take it back. When arriving in Australia, your subjected to (used to be a random scan of your luggage, now its compulsory to leave the airport), anything suspicious (Food, Fruits, Fur any botanical items though I've since seen lost the like) showing up requires you to go to ANOTHER line where they look into your luggage in depth, refusal means refused entry into our country. Of course theres like a 500m walk to the customs gate where they give you ample oppurtunity to throw away any items of risk.
WHICH IS WHY!!!. I was really surprised that my seeds made it into our country. Which is funny, I was procrastinating since my first shipment was 4 days late, and was going insane calling myself stupid for putting my real name on the package. But I guess unless they pack it full of seeds to the point of obvious they wont seize it. They only seem to go in depth on big packages. I guess they figure you can't really smuggle anything in a little letter. Or CD Case or a toy (depends on your shipper). If thery go over it with the scan doesn't show any powder of marijuana like substance a little miniscule dot they just go.. its probably the guys whos packed it mucus or some shit.

@toxer. yeah man i have received loads of coke through the mail. i have a mate in canada who posts it over to me usually never more than a g at a time though. he simply folds up a piece of paper and pops it in the middle of that then posts it over havnt lost one yet. it would be pretty hard to spot that in an x ray.
i have lost bottles of nutes though. any ferts with biological material wont make it over so dont even try

As I said, I studied scorpions. You mentioned how serrogated Australia is and thus all of your species are so darn amazing that what little research and pictures come out of your country - folks overseas drooled over. Back years ago I know some folks who would have given you fellas anything you wanted for a tiny box with a little "bug" or two in it.
