We are talking about why RP didn't run as an independent, but I'm sure you know that and you're just trolling.
deprave just gives up on his chances as an independent.

my point is that if deprave really is confident in ronald's abilities to win voters from the right and left alike, why wouldn't he be able to win enough voters to take the whole bagel?

Actually what most sane people have repeatedly pointed out is that RP can't win Florida and therefore cannot win against Obama. Besides that, it's clear to everyone on the planet that the Republicans will not nominate him anyway. It's called REALITY... No one is just mindlessly parroting the MSM. There just isn't a plausible electoral map that gives Paul 270 electoral votes that doesn't include Florida. He can't win, period.
Who said Ron Paul can't win Florida in a general election? All the Republicans will vote Ron Paul to go against Obama. Many Democrats who are social liberals will vote Ron Paul over Obama because social liberty is more important to them than the socialist democratic economic ideas. He might not appeal to the Republican base in some states, but there is no denying that he appeals to them more than Obama. There is also no denying that he would walk circles around Obama in a debate and that independents would favor Ron Paul. There are no republicans who are going to cross ranks and vote Obama over Ron Paul.

hispanics, lifelong democratic jews, and other factors make it impossible for paul to carry florida.

Ron Paul running Republican has ignited the Libertarian element in society. It has joined them with the social liberals in the republican party. This is a significant block of voters. Many independents would join the 3rd party. I would not be surprised if the primary was brokered and the Republican choice infuriated a huge portion of the party and caused a total collapse with a part splitting off to become a 3rd party rallying under Ron Paul with Rand Paul being the presidential nominee in 4 years with the backing of his fathers supporters as well as the Tea Party and others. Either way, look to see a party mix up in the next 10 years.

Jews are not a significant voting block in FL. Democratic jews wouldn't be voting republican either way, so big whoop. Ron Paul would have Rubio on his side in FL. I think he could split the hispanic vote. He would take at least a couple percent(2-5%) of democrats who are only democrats because they are social liberal and don't agree with the socialist economic stances and gun control. Many people who have never voted will vote once they hear Ron Paul. You also forget that he will get the libertarian vote and most of the 'other'. That is another .5%. When the college kids vote, they won't be voting for Obama this time if its against Ron Paul. I wouldn't be surprised to see a complete stomping of Obama in every purple state.

jews are a significant voting block. and they normally break only 3-1 democrat, it would be damn near 100% against a paul.

paul would lose similarly hard among hispanics for his refusal to rant against cuba.

paul would lose a lot of the northern florida voting bloc due to his foreign policy.

in any case, this is not a discussion worth having for reasons we saw yesterday: ron paul loses to froth! 19 out of 20 florida republicans want to vote for someone besides paul.

so LOL.

just to add to this, ron paul would not only drive more jews to the democratic ticket, it would be a democrat's turnout machine wet dream.

the exact opposite effect would occur up north, it would be a republican demotivator's wet dream.

and ronald would not exactly inspire confidence among the space coast with his desire to dismantle any government program he could get his hands on.

obama would carry florida so easily against a paul that it would be comical. ronald would have to pour so much money into that state that he would have less to spend on other important battlegrounds, like out west, ohio, and NC/VA.

Wow, didn't think the Jewish community was so ignorant.

yeah, we're pretty dumb alright.

a politician comes along and says "let's cut aid to israel" and "why would it be so bad if iran had a nuke" and we tend to shy away from that guy for some odd reason.

pure ignorance. we should vote FOR the guy who wants to let our hostile neighbor get a nuke.

Again, he would let Israel handle things as they see fit without our interference AND cut aid to the surrounding countries/enemies (which total almost 3X as much as Israel gets). What is so hard to understand about that?

Do you not believe that Israel can and would clean house?

I loved RP a lot, but then I learned how branches of his 'Trillion Dollar Cut Task Force' are owned by George Soros (a known elitist 'puppet-master'). Alex Jones wont even answer any questions about the ties; so i don't know what to make of it, and i cant just pretend like it's not there.
It sux, cause i thought Dr. Paul was our only hope, but i guess if you're in the game; you're a player.
Can anyone she some light?
