Man yyou like bustiing my balls.
No, that's not true. But unlike you, I am not a dreamer, I am a realist. I combine logic, rationale and facts and that adds up to the truth.
I never said that this is all a gaurntee.
I did not ask what, if any, guarantee would come with signing the petition. I asked if you actually believe that 100,000 people out of 311,000,000 U.S. citizens, or out of
177,777,895 registered U.S. voters would be enough to pressure both Houses of Congress to pass the legislation and then be enough to pressure the president into signing it into law, and then be enough to pressure the legislatures of 50 individual States into passing more legislation that would then have to be written and then pressure 50 Governors all into legalizing cannabis?
It's our way of voicing our opinion.
Do you believe that those who run this nation and the individual states do not already know that there is a percentage of the population wants legal cannabis? There have been people and organizations arguing for and fighting for legalization for DECADES. I am pretty sure that the government, on all levels, is well aware of the desire we have.
And for some reason the bill passes, wouldn't you like to be one of the voices heard?
Let's say it passes, then I have to hope my State legalizes it or else what the Feds might do would be utterly worthless to me, unless of course I did move to a State that did legalize it.
And would I care if my; "voice" was one of the 10,000? Why would I? It's not like I would go get a tee shirt made or some button printed up or a hat made saying I AM ONE OF THE 10,000 WHO SIGNED THE PETITION TO LEGALIZE CANNABIS, AREN'T I COOL, AREN'T I SPECIAL, DON'T YOU WANT TO SHAKE MY HAND AND THANK ME?
The results are all that would matter to me, but there is a MUCH greater chance that you will be struck by lightning and live on the same day that you win a $500,000,000.00 Mega-Lottery and when you get home from picking up your check find the Olsen twins and Keira Knightly there waiting for you and they beg you to have a month long four-way with them involving a 55-gallon drum of lubricant and circus equipment than have 10,000 names pressure the entire Congress, the president, 50 individual State legislatures and 50 Governors into legalization.
Wake up and smell the Mango Haze, buddy. 10,000 names will just not make any difference whatsoever.
