take a chance... I have had so called red.. grow it out if you can find a keeper cool... it takes for ever to grow ... of course its worth it if it's real and you have time... it's a hard one to find so I am looking forward to your grow show..

Isn't Panama Red a rather stretchy Sativa? Are you planning on growing indoors? Good luck finding a pure strain. Most of the so called Panama Red being offered as clones or seeds are crossbred with white widow or skunk.

Yea I'm already no liking what I'm hearing my grow season isn't the best, N. Cali.
pretty short I'm going to have to see them growing and decide. Long and strechy that sucks..

This was a rhetorical question I assume?

Jump on those beans/cuttings!

It can't hurt. Of course if you have limitations it's worth taking them into account. But to me I'd give it a try just because of the legend. If it isn't that good (ie: not the real deal), not much harm done IMO.

If you're doing it outside in N Cal and it's the real thing you will probably have to have a greenhouse I'd imagine to get it to finish properly, possibly a dehumidifier or something as well as I imagine it will go well into the rainy season.

Panama Red, Panama Red
He'll steal your woman, then he'll rob your head
Panama Red, Panama Red
On his white horse, Mescalito
He come breezin' through town
I'll bet your woman's up in bed with
ol' Panama Red

The judge don't know when Red's in town
He keeps well hidden underground
But everybody's acting lazy
Falling out and hangin' 'round

My woman said, "Hey Pedro
you're actin' crazy like a clown"
Nobody feels like working
Panama Red is back in town

Panama Red, Panama Red
He'll steal your woman, then he'll rob your head
Panama Red, Panama Red
On his white horse, Mescalito
He come breezin' through town
I'll bet your woman's up in bed with
ol' Panama Red

Everybody's looking out for him
'Cause they know Red satisfies
Little girls love to listen to him
Sing and tell sweet lies

But when things get too confusing, honey
You're better off in bed
And I'll be searching all the joints in town for
Panama Red

Panama Red, Panama Red
He'll steal your woman, then he'll rob your head
Panama Red, Panama Red
On his white horse, Mescalito
He come breezin' through town
I'll bet your woman's up in bed with
ol' Panama Red

i don't think i've ever had a genuine back in the day strain. my friend's dad is a fried out old hippie guy and he's always on the hunt for some nostalgia. we've brought him some stuff and he said it's good but it's just not the same. he wants a taste of the real deal old stuff again. he says the closest he comes to that nostalgia is certain kinds of hash that come around every once in a while.

i'd love to get my hands on some old timey strains just for the taste. i almost don't even care about the high. i just want to taste the stuff.

if someone offered me some i'd grab that shit up.

it sounds like you grow outdoors, but i was going to suggest to maybe try it indoors and do a 12 / 12 from seed on it.. can't believe i'm saying this as i'm no fan of 12 / 12 grows, lol, but if ever a strain was made for that style of grow, it's a heavy sativa like what you're talking about..

i'd say give it a whirl as well, just make sure that you plant something else along with it in case it's either bunk, or doesn't finish any where near in time for your area..

I have a few 400 watters maybe I could get them going now and hope they finish by late Oct. out side....

The other thing you can do with it is that trick using tarps to fool it into flowering. I forget what they call it, but just go and tarp it up every evening whenever you want it to begin flowering (I'm guessing probably July or August).

Sell them 2/me...lol/jk. The original reds were some knock you down stuff, it wasn't daytime smoke at all. In fact, more of a red-eyed heavy indica stone as opposed to what most would expect from a sativa dom.

Well I'm going to take the guy up on his offer and I'll spread the love
to members here, but it'll be a month or so.
