The Problem in America is Big Government

So people that are for small government and state rights are segregationists? I don't think you can really make that connection.
Yep he made that connection then denied it when I revealed his sneaky race card trick.

the question was:

  • What the fuck is wrong with stateside governing?

and i answered it with a recent historical example.

in no way did i say anyone was a segregationist. in no way did i call anyone a racist.

yet for some odd reason, that's the ONLY thing certain people heard.

guilty conscience, anyone?

:fire:

It's the new southern strategy. I'll call myself a racist before you can and then blame you for playing the race card... for me being a racist... and not... wait.. I'm ... lost...

Explain the State and Federal divide on MMJ.
cannabis was made illegal on a federal level, and slowly states are disagreeing.

if enough states eventually adopt MMJ laws, the federal law will be soon to follow (but not necessarily).

Why was it made illegal in the first place? The Founding Fathers passed a law stating you HAD to grow it during wartime...so where in the Constitution does it give the Federal Govt authority over this? The 10th specifically states that individual states have the right to draft laws on anything not granted to the Federal Govt by the Constitution.

a loose interpretation of interstate commerce has played into it.

the gonzalez vs. raich decision came a long time after the initial decision to prohibit, but that is how they keep it going. feel free to google it and read about it.

the more liberal justices dissented, another reason why i am proud to call myself a liberal.

i.e. The state may make any law it wishes, but the federals can make any law they wish. Federal laws trump state laws.

pretty much. if even one of these cases is won, the jig is up for the feds. so they stretch the constitution to say that growing 6 plants in your closet for personal consumption violates the interstate commerce clause...

this is wy i want obama in there for another 4 years above any other reason. even though brack sucks at picking people like geithner and daly, he will pick the right SCOTUS people to ensure that the issues i care about are taken care of.

corrected that for you Buck ;) We should trade places Buck, youd love Europe.
this is the reason why i shouldn't be a mod, because now i am forced to call you an idiot.

i expressed my pride in liberalism for the fact that they were the ones on the side of the guy growing plants in his closet, and you accuse me of socialism and big government.

thus, you are an idiot. i would attribute it to you being a bully troll, but hanlon's razor dictates that i not ascribe to malice that which is explained by idiocy.

In order to keep the discussion on an intelligent level (due to recent posts), I will build off of myself. Thanks guys! lol

1913 was the beginning of the end for a free and just United States of America.
1913:
- Richard Nixon born
- The first state marijuana prohibition law was passed in California in 1913. The law received no public notice in the press. It was passed as an obscure technical amendment by the State Board of Pharmacy, which was then leading one of the nation's earliest and most aggressive anti-narcotics campaigns. Prior to the passage of the law, there was no indication that cannabis was a problem in California. The Origins of Cannabis Prohibition in California from California NORML

- February 3 – The 16th Amendment to the United States Constitution is ratified, authorizing the Federal government to impose and collect income taxes.
- June 15 – Bud Bagsak Massacre: U.S. troops under General John 'Black Jack' Pershing kill at least 2,000 civilians in Bud Bagsak, the Philippines.
- December 23 – The Federal Reserve is created by Woodrow Wilson.
- April 8 – The Seventeenth Amendment to the United States Constitution is passed, dictating the direct election of senators.
