I drove alittle 5sp subaru for years. At times I miss the hands-on of it all but the price of the truck was too good to pass up.I love it even more because i drive a naff little 1.2 liter front wheel drive monstrosity of a car How's that lazy mans automatic transmission working for you guys? lol. Was at work a year or two back, whole parking lot froze over, i was parked next to one of the girls brand new BMW 5 series, she hadowned a big 4x4 for years always claiming that it was vital and that she needed it, which was correct, right up until her husband offered her the beamer, then she wouldn't hear a word against it, she sat there for 10 minutes with the work force rocking her car while she aimlessly span he wheels, i put mine in reverese, released the clutch slowly and drove off
Aye, i love my little skoda because it's cheap to run and a really fun little car, but i do wish i could have my old range rover back, alas it was too expensive to run as there were only a handful of places selling LPG at the tie so just ended up using lots of petrol pretty much invalidating the purpose of the LPG conversion. fuel is EXPENSIVE in the UK, really fucking expensive. Even my little skoda will be £50+ to fill up. That's currently 1/3 of a weeks wages.I drove alittle 5sp subaru for years. Interesting, mine is a 2000 Nissan Frontier, I picked it up for $7000 and its never let me down.I have a truck that is worse than worthless in snow. I know. It snowed here two years ago. I drove. At times, sideways. cn
Yeah, we use my wife's Subaru as our daily driver. We got 5" snow last night, which is getting rare, so I wanted to go play before it all melted.I drive around a little car(VW Jetta) most of the time because it's better on fuel but I keep a set of chains in the trunk.
When it gets too bad I jump in my Durango with 33's.
My wife's Subaru is one of them newer multi-transmissions with the clutchless shifting. I feel better knowing I can shift when I need to going up and down hills and shit but my left foot still feels like a dumbass, lol.Aye, i love my little skoda because it's cheap to run and a really fun little car, but i do wish i could have my old range rover back, alas it was too expensive to run as there were only a handful of places selling LPG at the tie so just ended up using lots of petrol pretty much invalidating the purpose of the LPG conversion. fuel is EXPENSIVE in the UK, really fucking expensive. I was actually looking at one of those with 4x4 before I decided on the 4x4 Nissan. Its a Ford Ranger pretty much right?Mine is an '02 Mazda B2300, 5 speeds, rear wheels driven. It gets pretty good gas mileage for a wheeled sandal. But its only winter sport is curling. cn
My buddy has an older Montero, agreed they're good in the snow tooNot that I see much snow down here south of the Mason -Dixon line, but I have an Expedition XLT EL that would go through just about anything. But I am still somewhat partial to my OLD 1990 Mitsubishi Montero. When still in the car business I took it in on trade, less than a year old at the time, and practically stole it. I wrote up enough other used vehicles by $1,000.00 each to cover what I put on the Montero and brought it home. It was like brand new. It holds a tremendous amount of sentimental value for me, but it's also a real champ when the going gets rough. A number of years back we had one good snowfall, 27 inches, and in 4-wheel high 'Mitzi' cut right through it like a hot knife through butter. What we do get down here most winters is ice storms and 'Mitzi' sticks to the icy road like she's got both studs and glue on her tires.
