Been there I think, it's near Augusta right?
Holy Shit, My girlfriend just came upstairs and I was telling her. She is ready to go camping. That place was in Augusta!! It was cool as fuck. And the place we camped at by the Au sable was in Mio. We camped all over back when she was cool. There have to be 50 private campgrounds that would beg us to come camp at their campground, the second they catch wind of this.

I have stayed at one of the camprounds aroundthis area, dont know if this was the one or not. The one I have stayed at was on alcona lake.

I know we want to stay away from the Rifle River in Arenac county. That is not a very pleasant county to mess around in, the Prosecutor there is an ASS. I know that first hand, I lived up there a few years back and he invited me to stay at his "Hotel" for 21 days....

I have been camping at so many campgrounds around the state that are near or on rivers that have canoeing/tubing I will need to think of a few and post them.

Hi everyone. I am new to this board never really have been a "board" person for many reasons but anyway. I am a MMP from St.Clair county. Honestly I know im new here by end of Summer I wont be but I would definitely come. So ill stay Sub'd keep an eye on this.

Did I mention I have over 30 acres of private land...would be cool if someone could host something very private. Public campgrounds could pose a definite problem...people like calling the cops ...although sad it is true. We all know as well even with cards cops can be...not the nicest to deal with or at least id be worried about getting kicked out of the camp grounds.

Just a couple thoughts...

Smithville landing located Between Lake City and Kalkaska.
I Have been there several times with a huge group, they are good people and never had a problem . The camping is very private and they cater to large groups.

We have lots of woods up here in the north. :bigjoint:

Lots of private property, lots of camp grounds. We could blaze down in many spots. There's many good trails and camping spots in the woods that I know of up in these here parts. :p:p

There are many legal campgrounds around here. The campgrounds that I mainly party at is like $12 a night. They have many spots secluded in the woods and it's never full so people don't bother.

If you can find some web pages for some post them up and make sure they are not county or state owned

I would think we would be better off to be at a designated campground perferably a "private" campground. As long as we are up front with the owner when setting this up it provides us with another layer of protection from "LEO".
It is legal to camp on public land with a camp permit from the DNR and these can ne obtained on line or any field office. But staying on state land allows any DNR officer to cruise up to camp and get into our business and the ammenities are not there as well.
