First, if you are allowed to recieve mail and pay rent, she can't just kick you out. You live there, and by law they have to take you to court to make you leave.
Second, If she knows you are growing then it is a conspiracy and she is just as guilty as you.
Third, it took me a long time to realize that wherever i lived, it is my responsibilty to keep it clean and looing nice. I cannot expect anyone else to do that. Even if you live with your mother, grandmother, and 6 uncles, you as the dutiful son, should be at the forefront of making your nest as nice as you can make it. Even if you do not like your stepmother, she is still your fathers chosen bride and you should help and respect her.Unless she is a total bitch and i would move out.

Q1- Check for loose connections, if you tap the ballast and the buzz stops or changes it's probably a connection issue. A certain amount of hum is normal though...Cool let me ask you some Q's if you do not mind ..
I wired my own ballast...followed the diagram on the instructions it came with ..
Q.1.
When the electric goes off, ie power cut .. meter ran out ..lol ..etc ..and goes back on and makes a buzzing noise ..
what happens next ?...
will it
A. cool down .. then switch on ...
or
B. Buzz all day Till you switch off.
Q.2
What happens if bulb blows whilst you out?
Q2- Replace when you get home I guess, I like to have at least one spare bulb,even if it's one that's near the end of it's life,it will hold you over until you can get to the store for a new one.
