1st "real" grow.. Advise from experienced ppl appreciated

I forgot to mention the other two clones from my first batch rooted as well .. A glp & a ww.. That makes me 4 out of 5 on my first attempt .. Shootin 80% from the line ain't bad, I wonder if I would have never done that "stem tug" test on that glp clone if it would have rooted. I would have been 5 for 5 on my first attempt at cloning , unfortunately I can't post pics of the new clones. I ended up giving all 4 to my friend to put in his backyard, in exchange I'll get to clone all his plants in about a month or two when they are big enough. I really didn't think the clones were ready to be put outside yet being that they never even had a full day under the mh & still looked pretty weak even tho they were rooted.. Me & my friend debated on this for a lil.. He wanted to take them & I thought I should prob nurse them back to strength under the mh for about 3-4 days.. But ultimately I told him that they were his clones & he could do whatever he wanted. So he took them, & to my surprise after not even an hour in the yard they look noticeably healthier.. That good all natural sun!! Can't beat it, sometimes it is just best to let mother nature do her thing I guess.. But I'll really kno by tomorrow.. I think it will be about 60 degrees tonight so this will def test it.. I still have 3 clones left btw.. They are my second batch. Two cotton candy & one white widow.. I think if all root I'm going to flower one with the mothers. Give my friend one to put in his yard for me ( I get all yield from this one) & my last I will prob give to a close friend that has showed me some interest in growing after seeing me do my thing.. Instead of making him order his own, I'll just start him off with a clone. I'm in the giving mood!! I'm like a free soup kitchen but for clones lol.. But seriously I just like the idea of my friends picking up this hobby.. We all benefit from it .. I don't have bud , he sparks me up & visce versa.. Not to mention I ain't lettin then smoke up everything I grow!!

just do what wheels619 said, and add the nutes to the water separately. that wil lwork fine. personally, i never do different nutes on the same day. i'll do say big bloom, then next watering, no nutes. then next watering grow big, then plain water again. FF soil is pretty nutrient rich.

if your plants are in three gallon containers you will atleast get a couple ounces of each of those plants i could almost guarntee

So roughly.. If u were trying to get 2-4 oz-3 gallon pot?? 6-8 oz 5 gallon & 10 gallon pots for up to 1 lb??

alright cool.. I think I might try that .. It would take a long time to complete just 1 regular feeding tho.. If I mix an average 4 different nutes.. It would take me 8 waterings to feed If every other was just plain watering.. It would take me probably about a month to do what I would normally do in 1 feeding.. But I guess I must do whatever it takes to keep the plant healthy.. These cannabis ladies are just like any other... they need need all your attention!!

yeah i would do that too. but i mix up 20 gallons of nutes every other watering and just store it in a res. lasts about 2 waterings. plus i have noticed better results doing it all at once with the brand of nutes that im using.

no just mix them in with the water seperately. micro first. make sure its mixed up really good then add ur bloom or grow or whatever u need. dont mix it all up in a pint glass then poor it into ur res. never mix nutes while they r concentrated together without enough water to dilute them. some nute brand will cause a lot of wierd shit to happen like lockouts and stuff.

Alright .. But 1 gallon of water is enough to mix all my nutrients right?? Or should each nutrient get it's own gallon of water & then combine the separate gallons of water??

Alright random Question that really has nothing to do with this thread or my grow at all for that matter.. But why does regular weed taste so harsh?? ( Mexican weed I assume) even though it is better than it was when I started smoking in like 2002 IMO. It looks light green now & sometimes even has pretty little orange or red hairs, not like when i used to get brown compressed bud, or some stringy ass weed. It still doesn't taste anything like what we in my area call "high grade" (sour, purp, etc.) at first I thought it was because Mexican cartels don't grow sencimillia (prob spelled wrong) buds.. But.. When I get some good "high grade" weed, ( sour d or whatever) I have seen seeds in it b4 ( hardly ever but it has happened) & it was still some fire!!! & also I hear growers say all the time that they had a plant go hermi or a fem got pollinated by a dude but the quality wasn't that severely affected.. So y is Mexican (regular weed) so harsh?? Is it simply the lack of a curing process?? Is it just that cartels only dry & do not cure bud. That leaves it without the good taste?? Somebody please help me out on this one

O.. & I almost forgot .. It is always said that if u take bagseed (Mexican or whatever) that 95% of the time if grown correctly it will be better than the weed it came from, (so it's not like Mexican cartels have inferior seeds or genetics) & this I believe because in my first successful grow using an aerogarden. I grew some bagseed from some horrible weed!! But the shit I grew was way better.. Now I can't remember exactly cuz I did that grow prob 3 years ago but I think I harvested that bud way too early cuz I think I ran out of bud when my plant was about 5-6 weeks into flower , and I needed to smoke. It was a sativa which I know now usually take 10-13 weeks to finish. So I doubt it reached it's maximum potency. But it was ok when I smoked it . Better than the bud it came from, but there was a bud I forgot about in a ziplock bag that I left in my closet for about a month. When I smoked it , it was 10x better!! It tasted soooo sweet!! Like some haze or something. So I always thought it must have did some kind of ghetto curing in that bag for that month I forgot it.. This is basically my reasoning behind asking if curing or lack there of , is the reason Mexican or regular weed is so bad.

one gallon is fine as long as ur only mixing a gallons worth of nutes.try to avoid mixing like 3 or 4 gallons worth of nutes in one gallon of water tho.

i believe the shwagg bag seed thing that if you grow out a bag seed will be better that is true to a point that you may put a little bit more into it and it will turn out better but unless it is genetically great chances are it will turn out to be glorified seedless shwagg trust me i started out growing bag seeds from some shwagg my end result was better than what the bag was but it still couldnt touch the genetics from the seed banks and some good seeds i got out of chronic. You could have everything perfect in your grow room temps humidity your ph perfect on the bud your growing but the end result is ultimatly determined by the genetics. That being said you could get a bag of shit but it was just the growers fault and the genetics are great. It used to be that the cartel would hire poor farmers to grow there weed for them for a small amt of money and the genetics that they use are ones that have been in that location for a long time and have been inbreeded constantly losing some of the best qualities now the cartels are getting smarter and using good genetics and doing it from clone for a better end result and they make more money with good genetics there is always gonna be people that buy shwagg but alot of americans would rather pay the extra bit for a superior product than to have a sizable amt of shit. I have had some good shwagg tho i will say down in mexico when on vacation. Also some of the pot thats the brick weed could have sat in a warehouse for a month to a few years.

Thanks.. Def don't wanna over feed so I will be watching my nutes.. I prob do mix a little too much.. I'm using fox farm grow big , fox farm big bloom, cal-mag,& sea minerals.. Usually a tablespoon of each except for the fox farm big bloom which I may add 2 or 3 tablespoons & I mix them all into 1 gallon of water & this is divided by 3 plants (cotton candy usually gets more tho since it's soo much bigger)

Alright, Montana u and wheels just gave Two completely different oppinions on the mexi bagseed. Idk, I've only done one grow of bagseed.. Well, to be correct I've only FINISHED one mexi bagseed grow ( attempted plenty as a teen but didn't know what I was doing) and it was from some of the worst weed I've prob ever had & it turned out pretty good. The only reason I even planted the seed was because my cousin let me borrow an aerogarden & I had prob like a qp of some mexi weed that was full of seeds. So y not? I threw it in the aerogarden and it grew like a beast!! (making me think about buying a hydro system, after seeing how slow this soil grow is going) but anyway that seed from some of the worst weed ever.. & I mean bad , I doubt that u guys on this site have ever smoked weed like this, it's almost embarrassing. I see all of the pics on here, looks like some Cannibis cup shit.. Half of y'all smoke shit I've never heard of and probably can't imagine.. (loosing the point of the story lol) but anyway it turned out to be pretty good , now I'm sure u have way more experience than me, so I do trust ur opinion, but I did grow some pretty fire shit out of that mexi shit so idk.. U suppose I just got lucky?? I prob did, when i started that grow I didn't know anything I just researched & learned as I encountered problems. I didn't even know about males & females.. Luckily I had a female tho

& this is a real noob question.. But here goes, this is my first "seed bank & home grown grow" now, as growers do you honestly believe that the weed you grow from seed banks are of the same quality as commercial growers?? And by commercial growers I mean the people who grow the "high grade or medicinal" bud not the mexi cartels growing b.s... I want to know because basically I want to know what to expect , is it going to match up with a dub of sour that I would buy on the street??

That's basically what I wad thinking .. It has something to do with their drying & curing method.. The flushing I never thought about.. Do you still have to flush outdoor plants? Does the rain not do that naturally?? & this also brings me back to a question I had earlier in the thread.. Should I be flushing my plant ?? How often ?? When?? I def dint want anything that tastes like mexi weed, not after I invested in all these nutes, lights , seeds etc .. I went thus far, I might as well do everything in my power to ensure u get the best quality possible

It's all about genetics, you can get good genetics in bag seed. Unless our definition of "bag seed" is different. To me, it's just seed that you got in your bag of flowers so it could be some killer shit. It's just not guaranteed. Also, like Wheels said, a little love goes a long way and that mass produced garbage reflects that in the flavor and aroma. Those plants get NO LOVE.

With what he said theres not really two answers there i say yes there is good mexican strains but there is also shitty mexican genetics its all in the genetics is what im saying theres good genetics all over the world thats why seed banks go to different parts of the world in search of genetics to cross into the gene pool watch the strain hunters from greenhouse seeds on you tube its pretty cool they have three expeditions they go on africa, india, and morroco. I dont know how to respond to the homegrown question because when i say seed bank stuff i know for a fact that i can grow as good as any of the commercial dispensaries its not that hard im not saying thats the case with all strains but something like master kush or something yes i have grown some better bud than some of the dispensarys here in montana and it is true that its all in the flush and most importantly the slow dry and cure. I let my bud dry slowly any were from seven to ten days then it goes into jars were its burped when its needed then it gives the bud a chance to dry evenly throughout from the middle out because when the moisture in the bud dries out its converted to thc cbd and cbn over time it also creates a smoother and more tasteful smoke if you dont flush the smoke will burn all black and nasty you can always tell a bud that wasnt flushed properly the buds all black and oily ash wise bud thats flushed properly will burn down white and all the way. A few months in jars and its excellent much better than just dried the taste comes out so much more.

What the seed banks are looking for are reffered to as land races world of seeds has some good ones and green house has some i cant remember theres a few other seed banks that sell just land race genetics that are potent as hell that you can use to breed with

Yea, I'm going to turn my hood into the next "emerald triangle" everybody gonna b growin lol.. i don't wanna make everything a racial thing but it might be.. Either that or its just people in my personal circle.. But whatever it is most people I kno who are "smokers" (not casual, but everyday smokers) don't know that an indoor grow or that it is possible without spending thousands of dollars , most people think they have to be rich or a genius to grow, & believe it or not it might sound silly, but the average person I come in contact with really doesn't even think an outdoor grow is possible in the u.s. .. They think weed only grows on tropical islands or some shit... Maybe my friends are just dumb idk lol.. But since I have knowlege , it's only right I educate (my homeboys, atleast) and just let them know that they don't have to spend all their $ to smoke.. Not to say everyone I kno will start growing.. I dint expect that.. But I do think that if they knew that it's not as difficult or expensive that they think it is.. They would def opt to start growing their own.. Another misconception in the hood is that homegrown weed is bullish*t , when actually it's the exact opposite. Maybe it's because we don't read enough (sad to say lol) but my fav rapper jadakiss said " u wanna hide something from a n*gga, put it in a book) and maybe it's true lol..
