Emailed Fox Farms asking cause I couldn't get anything definite online, here's the response.
TLDR: They're not owned by Monsanto. I like FF and think it's bullshit people are saying this about them cause from what I can tell, they're an awesome company with a great product and treats the environment with the respect it deserves. Which can not be said about Monsanto.
Hello ****,
Thanks for contacting FoxFarm with your concern. The rumors you are referring to are simply that just rumors. Basically, Scotts published a statement several months ago that they were interested in buying small soil and fertilizer companies that focus on hydro stores and independently-owned garden centers. This allows Scotts to enter a market that normally they wouldnt be accepted in. FoxFarm happens to be a company that sells exclusively to both hydro stores and independently-owned garden centers. So, when this article came out, we became a target. We know that there are rumors circulating that we are one of the companies that Scotts is buying, essentially tarnishing our reputation as a small, family-run business and giving our competition an extra foot in the door to market their products. As I said, these are all just rumors; FoxFarm has not sold to nor has any plans to sell to Scotts, Monsanto, or anyone. We will continue to make the highest quality soils and fertilizers available, and we will continue to be a small, family-run operation.
Thanks again for your concern and interest in FoxFarm. Please let us know if we can help in any other way. Have a great day!
