Hi everyone! This is my first *cough* legal grow, I just got my edible medicinal marijuana card. I can grow up to 48 plants totally legally! Anyways, I thought I'd share my results so far with you!

First, I'm growing two different kinds, hash plant and cindy99. I received 30 clones from a buddy of mine, in plugs and looking great. I let they go for another week to completely root and then transferred over to my grow tent. My tent is a 3x3 and just over 70"'s tall, just under the height requirements for my ceiling; its an a-frame room. Inside is a 1000w HPS light, connected to an 8 inch inline fan. Another 8 inch inline fan is pulling air from the top of the tent out. I took pics of the ventilation system I rigged up. Just call me MacGuyver. Or just any other random pot smoker.....

I'm using a 3x3 ebb and flood table i bought online for 450 bucks, I since have found it cheaper dammit but oh well, I'm really happy with it. It came with a pump and all the plumbing and was really simple to set up. I've also got an air pump keeping the water fresh and happy! On the side is an inline booster which I'm really unhappy with. It makes a horrible noise, I think the middle spindle/axle is loose. I don't recommend it.

So I did 3 weeks veg, and topped them after two weeks. In retrospec I think I'll top at one week and start flowering after two.... these baby's are huge. And lastly I"m using botanicare nutes and I'm really happy with them. Just look at my ladies! I think they're happy too. Anyways, check out my pics and let me know what you think! I'll update soon!

A couple things I forgot to mention, first is that my roommate is growing two mothers in soil from the first batch of clones we got. Shouldn't have to worry about where the next batch will come from. I'll throw some pics up soon of that. Second is the type of grow media I'm using. I'm using hydroton filled "emily's", or 6" square planters. They're filled to about 2" from the top.

Also, here is another pic I took sunday the day before I switched to 12 on 12 off cycle. IMO they're just a little too big. I'll probably have to turn this into a scrog to keep from burning the plants/kola's. One little guy didn't make it... i'll throw a pic of him in also... its just a little sad but funny. We're gonna grow it out to see if we can get a little bud from him :)

Tonight, when they're done sleeping I"ll take a pic and put it up here so everyone can see where they are right now.

Thanks for viewing and be sure to +rep! Peace!

very cool man. nice clean set up. i run aero and also use the botanicare pro line for the last three years. i have never had def issues or really any unhappy girls. and people love the results. the hydroplex works great but i use raw sweet, not a big fan of flavor adders.

Awesome! Glad to hear others are enjoying the same things! Before I used advanced nutrients and had good results also, but I inherited these happily for next to nothing! Beggars can't be choosers :D thanks for the post!

So I took some more pics last night! These are as up to date as I can give. You'll see the strings along the perimeter of the the tent.... I've decided to make a scrog. I need to control their height better or they're gonna start to burn in a week or so. I'll post more pics in a couple weeks. Thanks for looking!4 weeks in- one flower.jpg19 inces.jpghuge!.jpgTall and sexy.jpg

how many gallons are in your res? i'm setting up almost the exact same grow minus the tent but a 3x3 flood and drain in 6x6 pots with a 1000w hps in a cool tube. good luck. i'll be following along.

Well, I'm in the high rockies but we've had some of the hottest days since 1904 recently! At least for that day of the year... Temps are holding steady at 75 at night (when I have the lights on) and around 85 during the day (when I have the lights off). Seems to be working because my plants are thriving! I wouldn't want to run them in the day though. Also, they're in the loft area, and that part of the house is a little warmer in general. But I have a fan in another window blowing in, and so I'm able to keep a steady stream of fresh air coming in.

The rez holds 30 gallons. I Love the size, because it pretty much makes you stay on your game with cleaning and disinfecting. Make sure you get an air stone to maximize air in the water. This helps the roots and keeps algae at bay. I also find it easiest to make up a couple 5 or 6 gallon buckets of prepped nutrient water so you can add it to the mix as needed. And check your PH! I haven't had any probs, but I check it every other day. Good luck buddy! Can't wait to have something to post for you guys!

right on, i believe i am going to go with 30 gal rez(s) as well...seems to be a popular choice. and i was comtemplating the air stone as well, think you helped make up my mind on that.

how often do you flood per light cycle? i am totally new to the ebb and flow style...

and the plants seems to like those temps! interesting that its 10 degrees LOWER during their night cycle...

30 gallon seems fine for me... it doesn't make it the full two weeks, but topping it off is just fine and dandy. As the girls have gotten bigger, they've used more water so I keep an eye on it daily. At first I had my timer set at feeding them 6 times a day, two during their night cycle and 4 during the lights on. This was in veg so it came to about every 4 hours. Since then though, I've upped it to about 11 times a day. They are loving the attention, food, and as long as I'm not contributing to root rot or over feeding them I figure it can't hurt :) I started adjusting it at the beginning when I was using quarter strength nutes, but they looked a little droopy. I amped up their schedule and haven't really touched it since. Every now and then I'll hit the switch to turn it on for an extra feeding, but what can I say? Childhood obesity is ok in this case isn't it!

As for the temps? what can I say? I'm just trying to take advantage of the MUCH cooler nights. I just wish I could control my fans with an environment controller, but for now, they stay on the whole time the lamp is on. Someday :D!!!!! I'd like to get a C02 infuser added but it would be pointless until I can turn my fans off. I bet it recycles all the air in my tent every 30 seconds...

Thanks for posting! I love talking about my setup, I feel like a proud parent!! I'll post some new pics a week from sunday!

The main reason i asked about how often you feed was because of nute burn directly from clone...thats awesome it wasnt too big of a deal, i guess running 1/4 strength nutes at the beginning really helps out...ive had people tell me they only feed once per light cycle (the first week) when they throw their clones into the trays, before stepping up to 2x per light cycle the 2nd and 3rd weeks.

haha i think of supplementing CO2 daily brother...i cool my 600w hps exclusively, so i really am tempted to go buy a tank when i buy my ebb and flow system

Im glad you dig talking about your setup brother, i can use all the help i can get. Im running to the hydro store in less than 2 weeks so im putting the finishing touches on my knowledge before i take the plunge...(from soil to hydro, that is)...best of luck with everything hoss, ill be checking in regularly

I highly recommend hydroton (expanded clay pellets). Take the extra time and thoroughly wash and rinse them.... I'm still getting rings in my rez and flood table from the dust. I thought I had done a good job cleaning them too. Really easy to work with afterwards though.

agree with the good cleaning habits for sure. do you recommend using rockwool in conjunction with hydroton? i was thinking of cloning in rockwool, then putting the RW into small 5" pots filled with hydroton...

I totally planned on using rockwool oasis cubes myself! I got a bunch of these rapid rooter plugs and a terarium though and decided to use that instead. Either one should be ok. I would recommend using 6" square pots called emily's though. Being square they are bigger in volume, which you want for root growth. Good luck:) +rep

hmm...so i looked up these rapid rooter plugs and they seem pretty rad...how do you utilize the terarium? can you use the rapid rooter plugs essentially like you would rockwool?

Exactly like it. The tray that fits in the terarium is circular, also. Or better yet, is filled with about thirty round holes for the plugs. It was pretty nice but I think rockwool would do tje same... A little more expensive than the cubes, but they worked great!
