"Riding the Rails".........canopy managment 101
......one of the greatest attributes of the canopy ring method, is the incredible control it allows......almost all growers,
(esp. those confined to an indoor space) are faced with the challenge of filling a certain footprint in an efficient manner....often a plant will have a mind of its own and dictate its own placement within the space.....like a round peg in a square hole!.......i say "phooey" to that......this system allows the grower to instantly alter the footprint of a plant by simply sliding the colas along the perimeter of the ring....thus "riding the rails" so to speak......creating a "puzzle piece" with each plant, which allows the grower to piece his canopy together to form the finished "whole" canopy.......i have made all sorts of interesting shapes to get the desired effect........

.....this is a cabinet grow......there are four plants, each had to be an almost perfect square in order to fill the footprint properly........it was cool to pull them out individually and see the shape....a bit surreal!

.....this is my flower space.......almost every square inch is covered in a 33 x 70 inch space, using canopy rings, and soft wire ties.......i harvested 36 zips from this run, 8 plants in 7 gal. smarts, under two 600's....

... ...by now you know about my love-affair with bondage.......i would be lost without coated electrical wire, and hard-pots in early stages of main-lining and bonzai.......but last year my bro budman678 turned me onto strap velcro!....this shit is the diggity for use with smarties!....works even better than wire....with just a flick of the wrist, you can tweak a whole canopy...BAM!....ultimate control!.....

I love that part, you don't even realize it. You smoke some vortex, you sit for a bit, next thing you know you are working on somethin you need to get done. Then you say "hmm where'd I get the motivation to do this? Oh, musta been the vortex." It's not that u smoke vortex n say I gotta get something done now, Its I'm getting something done hmmm musta been the vortex i smoked earlier.

Hey Nug thanks for all the great info on here really appreciate what your doing and how your so informative with helping others. And sorry hear about you being sick. Its always good hear about others helping people out and being giving. I have pretty bad back injury so lot pain and permanent nerve damage right leg both feet go numb. Def. love all the info on here it'll def come in handy +REP i'll def. have learn more how to train and mainline grow as youve done and mentioned. i have some querkle and gods bud going now and seeds for jtr, QT, cheese quake. Nugs Soil Test......
...the cuts of V.D. were treated Exactly the same, cuts rooted same day, main-lined for 16, transplanted same day ect....they only difference being the medium....the plant on the left is in my custom mix made with a blend of an Amish made mix, and another local mix made with organic dairy compost....both the base soil, and the supersoil were made with this blend.....on the right, Roots base, and Roots supersoil....., both plants recieved 50% supersoil.........they are the same color so far.....i know this is just veg and structure, but the "Amish" mix is crushing the Roots mix....by far.....the real story will be told in the fade and flowers, but it is hard for me to believe that the roots plant has a shot in hell of matching the amish mix in terms of yield......not with such a discrepency in structure.
