Induction technology has been around for a long time. I wonder why it hasn't caught on if it's so great. You figure large warehouses would be using it everywhere, but I don't hear about that. I wonder if the claims are as good as they say. I can see how the bulbs will last longer, but not how it's so much more efficient with the understanding I have of induction technology. Atomizer might know more on the subject as it's in his realm of expertise. I'm just waiting for plasma to come down in price- then I might break down and grow with something other than the free halide that puts out the perfect spectrum and most lumens even from millions of miles away- imagine the energy that gives off when you see the dropoffs at just a foot or two from a man-made light...
I'm not discounting EFDL's, just asking why it's not in widespread use unless the cost still outweighs the gains...
